I have a 2k1 civic lx and I'm already thinking about the future of my next car! What would be the best year to sell/trade in my car so I minimize depreciation loss, and maximize resale price? I sometimes wonder if I shoulda bought a used car instead of brand new so I loose less depreciation off the first year. Any ideas and input into this is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

You should not lose a lot on the civic around here (in the south) 2k1s sell for about as much as they did when they were new...

Civics have great resale values and you should not loose to much with in the next 4-5 years

Hondas hold their value pretty good so there isn't much to worry about. As with any car keep the mileage down if you want to optimize the resale value. Also it helps to get ahead on your payments so that what they offer you for a trade-in doesn't leave you in the hole.

yeah d00d the civic loses most of its value for the next five years in the first year, then after that you can expect about 800-1000 drop per year so before the new model civic come sout and lets sya you bought ur civ for 16000 new itll probably be worth around 10 k after 4 years if you have moderate mileage.
