2002 Mini Cooper "S".... Anyone ?
I have seen a few of these cars on the road here in Tampa, and I must say I like them...
And push come to shove I would take it over the "SI" right now.... 163HP and gocart handling and backed by BMW ! Whats not to like ? > The $23,000+ price tag and a waiting list !
Second thought.... The "SI" is looking pretty good !

only one I saw around here was beat... black with a checkered flag top... plus interior looks uncomfortable.. and too spaceage.. but I havnt actually sat in one so I cant tell for sure
Nahhhh! Not for me. Yeah, they look nice, interior and exterior, but 23+ if you can get it for that, and not to mention what the maint. would cost. (After all, it is backed by BMW.) For the money give me a 200HP RSX Type S anyday!

The gauge in the middle is the speedometer. It's standard there too unless you get the navigation pagkage which then moves the speedometer to the drivers side console and then you get a nice LCD in the center.

the car is heavy for it's size. it weighs more than a celica and a focus and probably the SI. that will slow it down. plus, it's really not a mini. the old mini's were 2 seaters that were very very small. now they doubled the size. it shouldn't have the MINI name

If I got one, it would be as a second car. I wouldnt want to drive it every day, it is way to small and there is no trunk. You sit in the back seat and look out the rear window and that is it....I like it though.....for speed with the 6 speed tranny, that car must fly....I can get the Si for $16,995 now....Dealers cant sell them where I live and are lowering the prices drastically
You can get them for less than 23,000 uh go to Mini USA You can get then for like 19,000 for the Cooper S. They are at select dealerships. They are only at the dealerships that were able to build a Mini Dealership. Call the closest BMW dealership and they can tell you where to go for the Mini's. Personally I like them. I need to drive the Cooper S to be sure I would buy it but as soon as I get rid of my POS Civic I am leaning toward getting a Cooper S.

Hey,
Ok, from Edmunds.com. The Mini S is MSRP w/ options is $19,850.
The True Market Value (TMV) is $21,292.
That is due to limited supply with waiting lists, so its dealermarkup, much in the same fashion what the Nissan 350Z is going through.
So, wait a year if you want to get this car, and you would sure to be having it under MSRP.
Even at MSRP, I would prefer this car to both the RSX and the SI. Give me something different.

The regular cooper costs around $19,000 nicely loaded. The cooper S will cost you $24,000 before taxes with options.[hr]

They look nice and all, but they arent giving it that great a ratings because its not that great as an everyday car, good handling was one of the key features though.
