Check out Julys "Motor Trend"...
The new Motor Trend has a article called "cheap wheels"... It has 7 cars (sedans) for under $15,000 go head to head. The civic (LX) did well, "8.3/0-60 and 16.4/Q-mile" but didn't win... Check it out for yourself.
well who DID win?
better not be that damn focus...
i could live with the jetta, sentra, impreza, or corolla beating the civic tho...

2nd- Honda Civic LX = 8.3/0-60 & 16.4/Q-mile (115 HP) 5/man
3rd- Mitsu. Lancer ES = 8.9/0-60 & 16.7/Q-mile (120 HP) 5/man
4th- Ford Focus SE = 9.0/0-60 & 16.8/Q-mile (130 HP) 5/man
5th- Toyota Echo = 10.0/0-60 17.6/Q-mile (108 HP) 4/Auto

Corolla CE -- isn't that the BASE corolla!?
..and the echo isn't even in that class, size- or price-wise! kia RIO? hyundai ACCENT!? no wonder those sub-$10k cars finished LAST... who chose the cars for this comparison?!
will next month compare the off-road capabilities of the Hummer H2 vs. the Cadillac Escalade vs. Jeep Grand Cherokee vs. the Chevy Tracker?! or maybe a performance comparison of the BMW M5 vs. Ford Ranger vs. Honda Insight vs. EZ-GO golf kart?!

don't hate the kia... people from streetkiaz.com probably dog on the civic all the time.. it's just a matter of taste... personally.. i don't think kia's are all that bad... heck.. i thought the civic wasn't all that great until i drove one and bought one for myself.. i bet if one of you guys bought a kia, you guys would think a lot differently...
base corolla packs the same motor as all the other ones. it's also quite a nice economy car. i'd take a CE over a civic LX. I wouldn't take any corolla over a civic EX, though.

im disappointed that my ex is slower than an lx, i cant believe that the added weith from the options that an ex gets over an lx uses up more than 12 hp, if anything i would think that the times would be the same
lx+12hp+options = ex w/ same acceleration times
but its not, hmm
