Honda is good, but...Firestone???
Honda is good, but...
Okay...i need new tires and i know everyone else has complained about the crappy Firestones that Honda packed with our cars....at least the EX's
Bridgestone Potenza RE950 v. Firestone FR690(Stock Tires)
Now remember, this is a three dollar difference at tirerack.com...i'm sure buying in mass quantities, honda could've gotten a better deal....and if Firestone gave these tires to Honda, is Firestone trying to give themselves a bad image by equipping us with shitty tires?

By the way, from now on, every time you buy a new car, expect crappy tires to go along with them. Nearly every new car you get will come equipped with firestones. It has nothing to do with Honda. Honda saves money for using cheap tires and so do a lot of other car makers. That's the deal. If you drive the car safely, the tires will do okay (except in the rain if you drive a 5-speed)
The Bridgestone Potenza (I forgot which series) was even put stock on the Integra Type R. Sure they stick, but they don't last, which is why I bring the Yokohama Avid to your attention. They will last and they handle VERY well for what a Civic can do.

By the way, the link is broken.

The Potenza's still win out
Bridgestone Potenza RE950 v. Yokohama Avid H4
I was gonna get those at first, but then i found the Potenzas.

Okay.
But if you ask me, I would give it higher ratings than the ones you saw on there. (Though I can't account for snow. It doesn't snow in the Bay Area.) Oh, and there's a warranty. These are only my opinions.
If you do decide to go with the Bridgestone RE950, then let me know what you personally think of the tires after they've broken in. I am curious in their longevity.

I went with Potenza RE-730, they are the most responsive tire bridgestone makes (albeit not the most sticky), but these will last 30,000 miles and are cheaper than pole positions or g-forces. Peace
