Ok I picked up a cheap del sol about a month ago, for like a project car (will be swapping a b18C motor/tranny into it)..and my girlfriend starts to get all jealous and stuff & whines nonstop about her getting a new car..so I try to point her in the right direction, (honda or toyota), but nah..one month later she pulls in my driveway with a friggin bright a$$ yellow Dodge Neon SXT. Brand New. WTF!?! [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG] [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/IMG] ..I immediately showed my disgust. oh yeah, she did let me drive it...just a hint to let you all know, if someone you know has an automatic neon SXT and wants to race you, please do him/her a favor and race them with a bicycle, so it will be a closer race, because you will probably win. Horrible acceleration. Im ashamed of her now. Sorry for the long boring post, just had to vent my frustration. oh well, in about 6 months she will probably wisen up and get a civic. i have been in a race with a neon i was not driving but i was in my best friends 2k1 accord and this neon with a bunch of little punk kids pulls up reving and he got his a$$ handed to him big time the accord beat him silly

the v-tec del sol has 160 hp i know its a b series but they are not slow

i dunno, the manuals might be a "little" quicker, but her auto is pathetic.

i did say that it was gonna be my project car and i was gonna swap the engine.. ill admit it is slow now, but that is why it is going to be my project.

Sucks to be you, well as long as she is happy.

I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to look at a used RSX-S that arrived earlier yesturday. The price over the phone was $20,091, so once there I might be making a down payment.

BTW, if I get the car it is for me and my wife. My wife would then get my honda.

But I doubt I will end up getting that car, as my wife would rather have a RSX and I would much rather have a Nissan 350Z. Oh well, we will see.

well I will say this My girl has a 99 integra grs and i have my 2k1 ex. So to be perfectly honest with yeah I dont mind my girl having a faster car then me I get $hit about it all the time but it is cool.

Humm well I was thinking cheating too but that is about as bad. I have never liked neons biggest POS around even the new one that is coming out I have been like yeah but still its a neon.

lol...my girl got EX like mine, but in "slush box" form...damm that thing's slow...have to floor everytime i drive it.

The Neon (and the Focus) are probably my two least favorite cars, and yet everyone I see around town is modding out neons. Why? Just .. why??!

I realize they're cheap, I guess, but from what I've heard, they're actually designed to last about 5 years (or less) before they totally start falling apart. cheap-@ss aluminum parts and crap .. *sigh*

Oh well, as long as people drive those, my average will keep getting better as I blow past 'em all ..

My girls friends car kills me all day and all night. 1.8T VW BUG with a little help from me i am getting 12 lbs of boost out of that car. not a bad car at all. (and its auto)

I really dout that your girls car is slow. ITS TURBO. I think you wish you had it. just cause its turbo. This month road and track gave the SVT Focus the # car in its class. beating out the Civic Si. So there. Honda is just getting passed up by everbody now. Honda has nothing on Ford and Dodge. There is another Dodge that is coming out soon. It has mega horse power and its rear wheel drive. and cheaper then our cars.

That Neon that your GF has is the fastest in its class and the cheapest for Money to Horsepower. She paid a little more then what you paid and she whoops you all day i bet. LOL

The SXT has 130 hp out of 2 liters naturally aspirated. It's notsofast as the SRT-4
