Fix up beater?
I've had my civic 2 months now, and I have completely neglected to sell my old 91 corolla. One of the main issues is the headliner.
I had to take the liner out because it was sagging on my head. The vinyl lining is now completely removed from the stiff foam backing. I would like to redo it before selling the car. Any tips? What kind of adhesive should I use? How do I prep the foam backing (it still has alot of rough residue on it)?
Also, what kind of money can I expect from like Carmax ? It has 112k, and had a lot of problems that I fixed this year. New brakes, new clutch, new battery, new starter, new alt, new plugs, etc. Body is in perfect shape although 3 of the 4 door handles are broked. The car is silver and has been repainted fairly decently although some 1 or 2 chips revealing original silver. Thanks in advance!

IMO sell the civic. you save on insurance and thats like 16 gs. take that money, do absolutely no mods to the exterior of the car (leave it looking like a rolling box of shhh...) and dump it all under the hood. then race retards for titles and take their cars. nobody would expect a beat up corolla
Why not just keep the beater as a project car? Could make a fun drifter...
I sold my Jetta GLX a few weeks after I bought the Civic...and I miss it, especially since it was pretty much done: i/h/e, chip, kit, interior, paint...at least it went to a good home since I sold it to a friend, and I now help him work on it sometimes. ::sigh::

That sounds like you have an excellent station or winter car there. I wouldnt waste your time putting any money into the car. If you want to fix the headliner, then go ahead and do that. You can pick up some 3M headliner adhesive for that. I cant see you getting any more than $900 for that car if you were planning to sell it.
