I hate cops, period. They arent human. I dont care how much people like QCKSILVER may disagree. This one is kinda long. So here goes...
I was innocently cruising up rockville pike heading home at 9:20 p.m. I'm at a red light with this chick in the car next to me. The light turns green and I accelerate normaly. With the posted speed limit of 40 mph, I'm only doing 25 - 30 mph still accelerating to speed limit. I notice a State Trooper to my right parked, just watching the traffic. I pass by him with confidence knowning I am doing nothing wrong. He pulls out behind the car behind me and then cuts him off and rides up my a**. I take notice to his actions, and then I see the flashing lights turn on. I'm thinking to myself, "I can't wait to hear his excuse for pulling me over". He comes up to my car and asks me if I had been drinkin. I DONT DRINK. He then says I have no front plate. I said that I am waiting for the dealership to install it. The holes needed to be drilled. He then asks for my license and registration. I open my glove box. I had a pair of blue bulbs in there. He asks me what those are. I showed him and told him they were light bulbs. He leaves, and then comes back and gives me a ticket for $50 [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG] . He then has the nerve to ask me if I had been drinking, my eyes are slightly red due to my contacts. I tell him no, I dont drink. He says to me, "I smell alcohol". I told that f*cker I dont drink. He must not know the new car smell. He then says drive safely. That a**hole. Every night I see big American muscle cars roaring up and down rockville pike. They never get bothered. I'm 19 years old, dark skinned, and I drive a completely stock Honda Civic. Why bother picking on me.
Moral of the story, if you own and drive a import car, dont bother driving it, take a bus, cuz them pigs will be on your a** in no time for no reason. They are mindless zombies that have no life. Blessed with a power not everyone has, it consumes them and they begin to abuse it. This is my perspective. For your information, I am taking this one to court too!

a $50 ticket for what? no front plate? once it's installed the ticket will be discharged. that's probably the reason he had his eyes on you from the get-go. dunno what the 'drinking' excuse is all about though it's funny that you point out there's a chick next to you.. it doesn't seem to fit in to this story at all

was the front plate displayed in your windshield, or did you just not have it at all?

by the way, which states require front bumper liscense plates. Yea it sucks that we get picked on just cause we want to express ourselves with our cars. Oh well...

i feel your pain man. I got pulled over in my old 83 RX-7 on my way out of work about 4 years ago. I kinda deserved it because i had expired tags. But the cop asked me if I knew why he stopped me. I said "for the tags". He said that was part of it but originally he got up on me cuz he said I was flying out of the commercial area & I took off squeeling my tires... WRONG! I did not squeel my tires & I also was not speeding out of the business complex. He then placed me in handcuffs, then bent my arms all up high till it was hurting like a **** while searching me. Meanwhile, about 15 of my co workers pass by & seeming to them that I was getting arrested.

So they ended up impounding the car so I asked if I could get my stuff out of it cuzz I wasnt gonna waste my money getting it out (couldnt smog it & was on its way out anyway). they said they would get my stuff for me. SO after they rip apart my car & 3 other cruisers show. They decided to let me do it. When I got to the car, I was shocked @ what they had done to the inside. Glove compartment contents were all over the seats & floor board. The stuff from the compartments behind the seats were all over the back of the car. My dash cover was ripped off the dash and my rear view mirrior was hanging on by a little thread from where they tried to rip off my things (graduation tassle & a voodoo bone a friend made me). So I grabbed what I could & they drove me to a gas station to get a ride. Then they sat & watched me until my ride came.

I was sooo embarrased for the fact that my co workers saw me like that. In cuffs, being searched on the side of the road. All I had was expired tags. Not like I was seen doing a drug deal & was trying to hide anything. I was completely cool & this cop & his little ride along punk *** academy wanna be cop f*ck treated me & my POS car like crap. I wasnt to pleased, but when youre in cuffs, 3 cruisers and all that. I seriously thought I was going to jail for something. So I was happy somewhat about them just taking me to the gas station for a ride.

i thought mentioning the chick would be a good intro [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG] . as for the pigs stuff, every one lies to people to get thru life a little easier. the same way i lie to cops by acting like i have respect for them. i know there may actually be some cool cops out there, but majority of them are a**holes. and i believe 50% of those a**holes live in Montgomery County, Maryland. oh, and the ticket was for no front license plate. i didnt have it up on the dash becuase with my previous car, a officer gave me a lecture on how kids have had tags up there and then when having an accident, the tag flying towards there heads and decapitating them. i didnt know where else to put it. and im really not lookin forward to drillin holes in my precious civic.

The law requires a front plate. You didn't have it, so you were in violation and were summonsed. Harassment? No way. The plate must be on the front bumper; having it on the dash is worse than not having it at all.

You're lucky the ticket is only $50; that's really nothing compared to what tickets can cost. As for fighting it in court, your one and only way around it is for you to prove you installed the plate in the correct location--then the court might dismiss it.

You broke the law and were nailed, that's it.

As a general rule of thumb, if you are issued two plates, you must use two plates.

Put the front plate on yourself, you mos def do not need the dealership to drill holes. It is already pre-drilled on your EX! Put the plate up there and screw it in yourself! Just a little poke will do it! Yeah I know, this all sounds a bit [IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG] because of it's wording but it is true! I'm in AZ and luckily for us, we do not have to have our front license plate on so I had fun with mine and put up my own personal vanity plate! Yeah when I was living in Oregon my dad had a Camaro and he never had a front plate mounted on the outside since he got it he always had it up on the windshield and he never got harassed for it. Plus lots of guy in Oregon I have noticed have there plates on the dash so it all depends on the cop and state. But yeah I am here in AZ for awhile and there are no front plates, well if you order custom plates they have 2 but you wouldn't have to install the front one if you didn't want to.

Cops single out the "younger crowd" and the faster looking cars. When I got my first car (84 Camaro, all done up) I got 17 tickets my first year. After that i get maybe 5-8 in the next 2 years. They like to single out drivers. My friend was driving his eclipse and he's a 32 year old spanish guy he was getting tailgated by a vette and he was following a ferrari he was doin like 65 in a 55 and the ferrari was doin 80 and he got pulled over. Cops use profilling a lot wether it be cause your young or "not white" cops bust b@lls. No disrespect to QCKSILVER but I drive even more like a psycho now than i did when i first started driving and im getting less tickets. Ironic huh?
