With the US dollar starting to slide against other world currencies, we may see the day again where you have to pay a hefty premium to own a Toyota or Honda, not to mention VW, just like it used to be in the eighties.
If imports just get too expensive and you absolutely had to buy a big three brand what would you get? A Focus perhaps? Or maybe Mustang. PT Cruisers don't seem too bad. I don't hear too many complaints with Buicks, even though it seems kind of conventional. Maybe Jeep would be the way to go. Or how about a truck, with the prices and profit margins on trucks the makers do seem to try to create some quality there. The F-150 is the biggest selling vehicle in the US right now.
From what I've heard about Foci, they nice on paper, but I've heard complaints about them too. So I don't know. They do look ok, but not that great. Cavalier and Neon, they could do more with those, but they are just keeping those around as cheap sells, and not doing much to modernizing them. Maybe I would try the PT Cruiser, although I would expect typical Chrysler problems with it such as seals leaking and such.
Is this thread interesting to anyone, or just a dud?

First, yes, there's a Honda plant back East somewhere - PA I think - and then of course Japan. Mine was one of the Japanese imports.
And for domestics, I'd have to also say the Viper - very nice car. Or, a nice Ford Mustang Saleen Edition. A friend of mine has one of those and God it's a sweet car. He put in a killer sound system as well, and a flip down DVD player in the dash. I love that car. The cops are even scared to pull him over. Well, here in Montana anyways.
But I'd have to say the Viper is my first choice ..
Also, the new Pontiac Sunfire GT looks kinda sweet. Sorta

its still a debate between a prowler and a viper, prowler looks tight and are rare, and viper is fast and looks good i dont know but it would be between those two
