road rage: stupid f00 in a gray (primiered) car

sup guys...and gals...
k this is what happened just like an hour or two ago...
me and my two other friends were rolling back to our homes on 680 going north....my friend erik wasn in the lead with my other friend erickson after him and me trailing behind, asu usual...
on to the rage...
anyways, this guy in a old ash gray colored (like primered) car comes up mad fast behind me weaving in n out of the cars...i was watching him creep up on all 3 of us more and more through my rearview mirror...
so then this f00 cuts off my friend erik (the first car in our line) and he gets pissed off....so, in retaliation, he switches over two lanes and gains speed and cuts that f00 off....
me and my other friend saw the whole thing happen, and i was mad pissed cuz of it too...so we foloowed our friend and we surrounded the guy somewhat....erik was in front...erickson was in front of me and i was on the right of the f00...my friend was hecka brake checkin the guy....too
finally he backs away....BUT he comes back at us by throwing something at MY car when me and erickson were exiting...
that S.O.B. is very lucky that whatever he threw at me didn't do nothing to my car...or else i would've chased him down all the way to a stop and kick his sorry ash...

See what happens when you do something stupid like boxing a stupid driver in just because he cut off your friend? Should have let him go and forgot about it.

Maybe he was in a rush to get somewhere or had to attend to an emergency, doesn't give you the right to play cop and box him in. If that was me you boxed in , you'd get more than just me throwing something.

I too am tired of people playing cop on the road. Please DO NOT respond to other drivers lack of ability to operate their vehicle, such as boxing them in, etc. As a police officer, I am highly trained in driving a car, and even I have accidently made the mistake of cutting people off. If I can, I will try to apologize to the person. You have to give other motorists the benefit of the doubt and assume they made a mistake. In my opinion, your friend would have been in the wrong and the "precipitating factor" of any legal matter. It is not wise to provoke someone that probably made a mistake. If you perceive that someone is operating their vehicle recklessly, simply call 911 on your cell phone and advise registration number, description of car and direction of travel and we will handle it from there. Vigilantee behavior is unaccaptable.

Yeah I will agree I hate people that try to be the police. Like they just need to do their thing and live there life the police are on the road for a reason. Yeah I am more nervous of a person in a primer car that is beat up then a nicer ride like when they are right on your bumper at the light and you are like just what I need is the doing a fender bender on me. Which he probably doesn't even have insurance either.

But just my $.02

Yeah I would try and let the guy do what he wants, we have nothing to prove to them. But then again being in the same shoes as you I no doubt would have done the same thing, I am bad that way, but i am trying not to let this stuff get to me any more.

Just throw a half-eaten apple at his car - go for the windshield so he'll have to pull over to get it off. This doesn't count as litering. If he has a girl in the car, do it at whatever side she's on to scare her. Don't take no for an answer if the window is down.

Isn't it now against the law to use cell phones on the road? Whats the exact law on that? Everyone wants to pass laws but they don't let people know exactly what was passed now adays.

I know Oregon was trying to ban them on the road but I dunno if they passed it or not. I think they should be outlawed my self my aunt is a horrible driver and with her talking on the phone at the same time would scare me if I was out on the road. If I have to talk it is short and to the point there is no way I will talk on the phone in rush hour traffic and its all backed up stop and go with people cutting you off and all sorts of crap.

I agree pretty much with everybody else. If they were cutting people off, let them be. There is no need for retailiation or any of the acts that you described in your post. Seems like you realized it wasn't the best thing to do, so that's good.

Also about the cell phones on the road: it varies from state to state so if you're not sure you should check with your local laws. In some states it's completely illegal to talk on the phone while driving the car while in others you must be using an ear piece so that both hands are on the steering wheel.

According to New York State VTL Section 1225, it is unlawful to use a cellular telephone while your vehicle is in motion UNLESS you are talking to the police, ambulance or fire departments, or are utilizing a hands-free device (headset, speakerphone).

I don't enforce this law because I don't follow it, but many other cops will issue summonses for this.

If it is an emergency or just for a short time, then I think using the cell phone is okay. I watched a Tv show saying that short, simple phone calls aren't as bad as long, complicated ones. Still, I don't talk on my cell anyway.

as for the topic, road rage is bad...... if someone is driving dangerously, let them be and hope they don't get any1 else killed 'cause of their stupid behaviour.

i use my cell while i'm driving, not that much but if i need to make a call im not pullin over on the highway to make a call. That seems more unsafe to me than using the phone dosen't it?
