Rep Power: 0 Need all your oppinions on what is worth my time?
I have a 2001 coupe and am deciding on doing one of 2 things, buying a 91 CRX, a B16A1 and a turbo kit after selling the civic, or having an RSX type-S motor put in my civic. Im not sure what would be better...the fast *** CRX or having an engine swap that very few people have already. Which would be faster? So, tell me, if u could get either one what would you pick?
Alos, dont say ill never get the engine swap b/c my buddy has worked for honda for several years and offered to do the RSX swap for about 7G including all parts labor and such.

Rep Power: 0 personally, i would go with the swap cause you couldnt swing a dead cat without hitting a tricked out crx. swaps for 2k1+ are still relatively unheard of, so you will be unique until us peons get some more money under our belts

Rep Power: 0 RSX swap. With the RSX swap, you still have a new car frame and a badazz engine to go along. Not including the bolt on parts still to come for the K20 engine. I would go that route.

Rep Power: 0 SWAP! Then post a detailed DIY complete with pics!
Seriously, though, if you REALLY can get the swap done for 7G's, go for it...you will have a fast and refined ride, light years beyond the CRX.
Edit: BTW, the Civic is pretty light too, so you could then smoke some CRX butt...what's THAT worth to you?

Rep Power: 0 look in a rice magazine and you'll see page after page of little crx's with jet engines and neon paint. represent the 7th gen, keep your honda and make with the k20 swap .

Rep Power: 0 Well the CRX path would probably be cheaper and easier since the Type-S engine costs ~6000. However the RSX swap has never been done and people around here will call you GOD if you pull it off.

Rep Power: 0 crx would be the way to go, and like they say the rsx engine swap would be awesome, you might even get magazine feature! i think swapping the rsx engine would involve locating the whole front clp of the rsx, so good luck! and i heard people did try are hitting a lot of problems, screw up ecus and broken transmassions.. etc...

Rep Power: 0 go for the swap, there's an rsx engine on ebay right now, for another day or so, then have your buddy do the swap for ya, talk to htown with any questions, and then wait for the hks turbo for the rsx to come out, slap that on, and then whoop some *** in your 7th gen!!! YEAH!!!
here's a link for the rsx engine on ebay null

Rep Power: 0 Hey, thanks for the input! sorry for being slow and not responding ever...i was looking deeper into the RSX motor swap. My friend called up his guy in CA, said the motor is $5800, and hes gonna charge me bout 2-3 hundred for labor and any other small parts...now im basically waiting for a few more paychecks. Also, whats the dry weight of the 2k1 coupe?

Rep Power: 0 If you have 6g's, can you buy me a new driver's side door?
Seriously, if you have the money, swap it.
