Is underbody engine cover necessary?

I ask this question because mine was lost after I had an oil change done at jiffy lube. Guess they didn’t get the screws back on correctly. Guy there told me he would order a new one and put it on. Never did hear back from him. I crawled under and I like way it’s so clean I know that aluminum cover really helped in that regard so I may just buy a new one myself to put on. Definitely not going back to jiffy for anything now

Check for sensors and wiring that would be behind the cover. If there’s nothing, you’re probably fine. The one on my TSX got destroyed when I got stuck in about 2 feet of snow in my all seasons and had to get pulled out. That was a little over a year ago and it’s been smooth sailing without it.

Keeps some of the grime out, and helps a tiny bit with fuel mileage, not critical though
