opinions on trade...

I've been thinking for a while now if I should trade my 2001 EX auto sedan with about 9800 miles on it for a 2002 manual EX coupe. What do you guys think about this? and how much $$ do you think i might have to put on top of my car? btw, the honda dealership is having a big sale right now, trying to get rid of civics and accords. Thanks in advance....

i hope i don't get flamed...

its so sad that everyone is worried about getting flamed now-a-days. anyhow, i think the coupes are hella cooler than the sedans. i have a silver 2k1 EX auto and i love it. so that's my 2 cents. as for the cost, i have no idea about that. try looking at the kelly blue book value or something like that as far as how much the car should be worth with that mileage. good luck in whatever you decide to do. remember its your car and it should make you happy!

If you are serious about trading it in and want to stay within Honda cars...why not an RSX Type-S (yes, it is a Honda, despite what the marketing types say)?

If you got the dough, maybe a TL Type-S? 260hp v-6, 6-spd....'nuff said.

Or a Mazda MP3? Good styling, wheels, sound system, power and a suspension that rocks!

I would think that you would be looking at 3-4k difference out the door. You have already lost a few thousand in depreciation, and the dealer will hit you for another few thousand so they can make money on the resell. You are going to take it up the rear anytime you sell a car within 2 years of when it was new. I know, I took it up the rear when I traded my 00 accord for the civic. However, I could afford to take up the rear. It just depends. If you got the cash and don't mind throwing away a few grand, go for it.

You would be better off selling it to an individual. However, it sucks having to wait.
