what to do??!!
what to do??!!
OK, here is the deal
i go to college in PA, where the roads suck, the elevation is high (killer for a 127hp car) and my car up there is just no fun at all
when im at home, here on long island, i love my vic', but i hate paying for it...
due to my good grades, my mom has given me an offer......she has offered to GIVE me flat out her 97 dimatante w/ 40k miles on it......its in pretty good shape, needs a lil' cleaning up, but still a terrifc car......
she will keep my vic' (w/ all the mods, LOL) and pay it off.....then when im done w/ college im allowed to sell the dimatante and do what i want w/ the money....
what should i do!?
thanks, mark

Take the Mitsubishi. Your repairs will be cheaper than monthly payments plus, if something really big blows up, your mom will probably cover it out of guilt. lol

avoid mitsubishi like the plague. even if the repairs are cheap, it's just such a pain. they usually have to order the parts, and you have to fix the crap so much that it is irritating waiting for the car to be ready. avoid the hassle and headache..... keep your civic.

If your in college then you must be strapped for cash right? So take your moms offer, not only will you have no car payment but if your mom pays off the car that makes your credit look really good. If the car is in your name of course. I'd jump on that offer real quick, Mitsu's aren't that bad, in fact the Diamonte is kinda pimpin' . Plus once your out of college you can sell it and buy your Civic back from your mom, I'm sure she won't beat the crap out of it so it sould be in good shape.
is she gonna be driving your civic??? cause if she is, i would stay with the civic. If she's not (car kept garaged or something) take the Mistubishi, sell it when you graduate and put that money into more mods for your civic.

#1 question........How much do you owe on the civic????.......
if you owe more than 13,000$$.........go w/ the mitubishi,......thats a no brainer.......
but if you owe like 8,000$$......well then you have some considering to do.

i owe about 13k still on the civic, its in her name...but its my car, i pay for it....
yes, i am in school, and always strapped for cash....no car payment =
she will be driving the car, she only will drive it to work (1mile away)....so the mileage will stay down (the civic already has 27k miles on it)
i still have some thinking to do......oh.....and either way, i aint takin/buyin the civic back when im done w/ school...im gona move on to better things, 3.2cl type s , or s2000

Well, I love your ride,......and that sucks you won't be here any more, but....she's basically giving you about 2,000-5,000$$$............but then there's that love for the car......man, it's hard......
good luck
.....personally,....I would NEVER get rid of my ride,.....too much time, money, and I love it....but its your choice......
you should set up a deal w/ her where you pay half of the car payment, take her car, and she keeps your car.......but you get it back in the end......
so basically, she pays half gets a dope car,....and you do too in the end....

There is nothing better than having a nice car that is PAID FOR. I had one for about 5 years. I don't have any problem making my payments but it's still cash you could use for something else. If you are having a hard time with the payments then I would go for it. Well, on second thought, if you owe 13k on a vic, I would take your mom's offer. Although, if you plan to trade the vic before payoff, then you may want to keep it. How long before you finish college?
