I would say go with personal preference.. The 2k1 is not really known for its HP/ Torque capabilities...
I believe most people on this board do it for personal reasons...

What's a Gude package? Can someone tell me where to get some info on it? Thanks a bunch!
Also, do you think I should get rims (17's or 18's?), exhaust (what kind?), or and AEM cold air intake first, (or just save up for the Gude package, if it's good.) Did you catch all that?

also, if your concerned about going fast remember this: weight is your bane. get rid of it where you can. This goes especially for unsprung weight. what is that exactly you ask? Its the weight thats not being "suspended" by the suspension (read: your tires, rims, brakes, lug nuts, yada yada yada....). Weight in this area is = to 1.5 X the weight from anywhere else in or on the car. So say you have 28 Lb stock 15" steelies. You then go and buy some ultra light 11 Lb 15" Volk TE-37s. thats a 17 Lb per rim difference. Now multiply that by 4 (4 rims) and you get 68Lbs. Take 68 and times it bu 1.5 and you get 102 Lbs. And for every 100 Lbs you remove from your car, thats a 10th of a second off your 1/4 mile ET. So effectivly, you cur a 10th off your 1/4 from just changing rims. ALso keep in mind that even if you have 2 rims that weigh say 17 lbs, but one is a 15" and the other is a 17".. the 17" is going to make the car slower... even with correctly plus sized tires... and this is multiplied by the fact that your civic, as well as hondas in general, have no torque.
somone said the Gude head package was 25 horses to the wheels.. afraid not.. it was actually dynoed at 40 hp to the WHEELS. don't forget.. there's more that can be done to the internals than that package offers.. go to www.honda-performance.com call that guy up and ask him about the D17 stage 2 package. involves entire map out and re-build. lightening and balancing pistons, new valve sleeves.. etc. lot's of goodies out there.. just got to look! so far the biggest gain for the money i've seen is out of the hp racing 4-1 header with cat. I like the gains i've seen from it. Not bad for a bolt on.

Yea, i believe everything i read...
BTW, heres a quote of just ONE of the MANY satisfied customers, who happens to be the webmaster for zx2.org, and theyve been dealing with Gude for years now.
"Stay away from Gude products. Trust me onthis one. I've heard so many horror stories form the ZX2 community about their products.
They often ship their turbo kits missing parts or with parts that are incorrectly made, then when you call them about it, you gat called a jackass on the phone and they accuse you of stealing parts. One of the ZX2 guys had his turbo kit shipped with incorectly bent pipes. They wanted him to install the kit on his car and take pictures so they would know how to bend the pipes correctly the next time. Also, the Gude kit does not come with any additional fuel management. It runs right on the edge of what the stock injectors can handle when near 100% duty cycle.
Their head packages are another nightmare story, but I'm not going to get into that now. I'm sure some Neon owners will have bad things to say about their neon head package too.
Of course we aren't allow to talk about how Gude products are crap on ZX2.com because anyone that does is threateaned to be banned by the admins since Gude sometimes pays for advertising on the site."
Ahh, but thats not the end of the story. this crappy company has screwed over people from clubSi.com, club3g, and many a ford Focus site... and those are the just the ones i personally know about. I dont suppose you read the article in GRM (grass roots motorsports) about how they, ammong other "tuners" skewer dyno results in their ads? Apparently not. If you want, go ahead and get their package and you tell me if im wrong.

BTW there is a difference between making a turbo kit and making a custom set up. its pretty much a universal concept. the hard parts would be custom fabricating the piping and a turbo manifold. pull a used IC off a starion, pick up a T3 on ebay for a few hundred, and oyur under 2500 easy.

definitely stick to turbo or n2o. IMO, you should play with the suspension instead, because there's no way you'll get any real power out of that motor until you make the commitment to go all out for forced induction. n2o is good, and cheap, but you'll still end up getting supplimental mods to keep everything running right.
