1/8 mile time (02 EX)

1/8 mile time (02 EX)

I went to do the 1/8 mile at Portland raceway a few days ago (first time in this car) and my best time was a 10.484 @ 67.02 MPH with a horrible R/T of 1.255... I'm not sure if this is a good time for a 02 EX coupe 5 speed with DC Sports TCS and Injen CAI. I think i've could have done better... Just gotta practice I guess

if you got a timeslip for the 1./4 mile track, it gives your 1/8 as well.

you cant really convert a 1/8 mile slip into a 1/4 because you are accelerating still

KURUPTLX- I would LOVE to see you run a nine in a civic EX coupe, or any close to stock civic for that matter. The fact is, is that is a DAM N good time for a sohc civic with just those few bolt ons. Just today I lost to a SI on an eighth mile track. He was running consistently in the 10.2s, and he had more stuff done to it than that. I have a 2001 civic EX auto, with a magnaflow exhaust and the resonator removed, and the best I could muster was a 11.586. Now before you go talkin about that's b/c my reaction times were so slow, I'll have you know that the reaction time isn't even included in the ET, and my reaction times were in the 0.6s, EXCEPT for the time that I ran the 11.586, that was my best run, but i had a 0.915 RT.

Only half right...yes the R/T is the time measured from when the light goes green to the time you gets going, however it has no affect on ET's. If I don't move when the light turns green sit for 5 seconds and then go you will still run say the 16.0 that you had previously on the run before with a .8xx R/T

R/T's only affect you when trying to beat the other driver down the track.

Silver: that is not too bad a time. The best 1/8 I have is 10.998, and that is at 4225 ft elevation. So in portland you should be right around 10.2 or so at best for an average. So that's not bad. You have cooler air there, but it is a bit more humid too. But, elevation makes a huge difference. Keep racing, it's a blast.

I think that was an excellent time. Considering the modifications you have done and track experience. I was able to pull a

1/4 = 16.156@82.97mph
1/8th = 10.402@67.86mph
R/T = .668
60 ft = 2.479

Keep in mind that this was a 1986 Acura Integra with 170,000 mi and only muffler welded on back. I also missed third gear on this run.

As for KurupTLX, if you had a 1/8th of a 9.x I would safely assume you were running about mid to low 15 sec passes.

Anyways, keep up the good work Silver02EX!

That is a good 1/8th mile time for a 7th Gen EX with just a few bolt-ons. Our local strip has import night on Thursdays and there are a lot more mildly modified Si's, Integras and Cavaliers running 10's than 9's

Our older Civic hatchback is in the 9.80's @ 73 MPH but it has an Integra LS motor
I haven't run the 2K1 LX, but the track will probably need an hourglass to get the ET

This enables us sohc racers to show up V8 monsters
Screw the 1/4 mile, it's where real power takes over
Here's something for you all!

I have Custom 2 1/4 exhaust cat back & short ram intake:
My Best is a 10.6
This is in between fall and winter though.
I've found that weather effects times the most.
Not to cold(less traction) and not to hot or humid
The saying is the cooler the air the more power produced
definetly true.
Some stock times from my region.
Mustang GT-10.1-10.4
Corvette 8.4-9.4 (different motors)
Camero SS 10.0

So in other words- those are great numbers you put up!

Holy **** captain obvious.. thanks for "having me know" as though I had no idea. I know exactly how it works.. I was commenting on the reaction time because it was TERRIBLE. In order to get a R/T of over 1 second you better be eating a burger in the driver's seat or have a female companion giving you head.
