Rep Power: 0 to flush or not to flush
I just bought a 2003 honda civic lx with 170,000 miles on it. It has a automatic transmission, and gets stuck in gears and will not shift. I don't know if the transmission fluid has ever ben changed.Should i do a flush, or will this just do more damage ?

Probably needs a new tranny. At this point its so late in the game you might as well leave it until you can get yourself a new one.
Any trans codes?

flushing it wouldnt do more damage, but it would be futile (and a waste of money) if the trannys bad. i'd have her looked at.

is the shifter itself getting stuck going from P to R or D or the actual car shifting while already in D? any engine light? flashing D indicator? sounds more like some other issue, possibly a misaligned TPS sensor which can feel as bad or worse than a messed trans.
