Playing with the girl in the RSX Type S.

Tonight I went on a long drive that started out with me going all the way from Emeryville, to Oakland, Hayward, San Mateo, Half Moon Bay to highway 1, Pacifica, through San Francisco, Berkeley, Richmond, Concord, Stockton, Danville, Dublin, Castro Valley, and Back to Oakland. To sum it up, it was a worthy 100+ miles on my car. As you can tell, I love to drive. Everything about this drive was perfect. (Except for my passenger who happened to be my mom!) It started from 10:30pm to 1am with only one rest stop. (Getting some gas after going to the bathroom at a Gas station.) I should've counted the MPG... but once I reached the Concord Area (just below the 100 mile mark) I had used just a lil' over 1/4 of my gas tank. What can I say... it's a Honda Civic.

I went a lot of places... heading through Half Moon Bay and up north to Pacifica were the best roads. Nothing but a deserted 1 to 2 lane roads taking each turn at no more than 10-15MPH over the designated speed limit. (Bleh, see why I need an Integra Type R? I'd be drifting!!!) Yeah, I like to speed but I have my own rules!

1. No speeding in traffic. (Going over 80MPH+... easy way to get a ticket, and I usually drive in the fast lane about 90% of the time.)
2. No weaving in and out of traffic. That's just stupid.
3. If the freeway is open, claim it if you wish. Look out for the cops still.
4. Absolutely, positively no racing... (I'm tempted sometimes... I try to resist.) I prefer the 1-lane road anyways. I don't necessarily need the fastest sports car.

Everything was fine, except my mom complaining about the speed and telling me about "smokey" (not the bear, fOO) and insurance jumping up. I simply told her she's no fun.

On the way back towards Oakland after taking the junction to 280 I notice that I'm right behind a silver RSX Type S. (No mods.) Once we both hit the freeway, my engine's screaming it's head off passing the car like it ain't sh't. My mom tells me that it's a girl in the car, and as we were both speeding, she was going too fast. I'm thinkin, "A girl in an RSX?! Awesome! I got in the far left lane and she followed right behind me and my mom fell asleep for a bit. The road started going downhill and it was pretty clear. This whole time, I had my car slowly accelerating in 5th gear (I didn't want my mom to think I wanted to race so I kept it quiet) and as we smash around the thick long and weavy road surrounded by hills, we both made it to a suitable 110MPH. (If I went any faster and the road curved a bit harder, I could've lost control of the car.) Of course if you think I could escape the Type S and leave it in it's tracks, then you're plain silly - as my car is almost at the point of accelerating no more. But once HER car reached 110MPH, at this point, I know personally that the engine of the RSX is not revving one bit in it's 6th gear. The car hasn't even begun to fight as mine is 6MPH shy from running at it's full power and 17MPH from the car running out of breath if it could ever reach 127MPH in a decent time. But of course there was no need to fight an RSX Type S the first place knowing that if I was doing 127, it could still literally run circles around me. We slowed due to traffic as the road straightened out, and around 95MPH, the RSX went around me and another car that was in front of me... quiet as ever but still pulling forward faster than my car could ever dream of. I got behind her and then beside her I dropped it to 4th gear still doing about the same speed. I guess she wanted to see what my car was made of. I decided to pass her, having the engine go BAAAAAAAAAAAAAA as the tach needle reaches closer to about 6,500 RPMs having the petal floored I make my attempt. My car pulled in front of her a lil' slower than how she curled around lanes in front of me... and that was that.

A funny this is that after we were doing 110 around the curves and had to slow down, this new Corvette comes out of nowhere revving it's engine going about 115. We ignore it... this was strictly a newborn Honda Civic EX Vs. newborn Integra GS-R... cousins under the same skin seeing how each car performs. I think it was awesome... and she was pretty cute. Another freeway split from Castro Valley to Oakland (580 which would take me home)... and we part going our seperate ways. Hot chick in an Integ is also a turn on! I had a good night, and that was the best part about it... and I think she liked my car, too.

my best friend here has a rsx type s and we trade cars whenever we drive... he says my car can keep up with his so he's pissed cuz his is more expensive... anyway, whenever he drives my civic and i drive his rsx, he says that he gets more looks driving my car than his own. haha. i love driving his car car the pull when vtec kicks in is so sweet... but yea, street racing is much more different than track racing ... after driving his car and comparing it to 7th gen civics, we are not too much slower at all. ive raced him so many times in my car against his and in his car against mine just to see if its the way i drive and we always are so close when we take off and when we end.... the rsx always beats my car but if he's in my car and im in his, i beat him by a car length and when im in my car and he's in his, it's the same so yea... i'm happy. =)

I've tried talking to my friend in his CRX on the freeway with the windows down and our cars side by side... too much wind... even at 50MPH.

Right at home if you ask me.

All I gotta say is that I see a lot more 7th Gen Civic coupes in the Bay Area than I see RSXs but tonight I probably saw more RSXs and look where I had to go! Well, in apearance both cars being nearly the same shape, IMO the Civic is easier on the eyes. At first, I thought the headlights and taillights look ridiculous on the new Integ, but the more I looked at it, the more like liked it (and I like how the taillight light up at night.) The Civic is more simpler. I can't say it looks any more "sportier" than an RSX but I see why the Civic gets more attention coming down the street.

If she was going my way, then probably. But I've already driven the Type S before... I like the old GS-R better.

You know, the funny thing is the guys on Club RSX are always talking about how girls stop them and compliment them on their cars and how they get looks that make them feel like they're driving a Porsche or some other exotic car lol. But in my opinion, while the looks of the RSX grows on you after a while, nothing beats the simple, pleasant aesthetics of a 7th gen Civic! Some people like the look of the DC5 and some don't, but I haven't heard anyone say anything negative about the looks of the latest Civic.

Yeah... if you compare the 6th Gen's look to the 7th Gen's (we're talking coupes now) the 7th Gen really makes the 6th Gen look plain.

I noticed how on the Ford Focus sedans that the tailights... brake lights and signal lights are in the same area of the coupe's. (Dunno about the Focus' reverse lights.) They're all red, too. The design of the coupe was designed here while the sedan was designed in Japan. But though I'm sure plenty of people here could give a f'ck... where was the design for the Focus made? If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it somewhere on the Europe side of the earth?
