if you wanna get techincal there hasnt been 7 gens of Si....so technically it isnt a 7th gen hybrid...

good call scottie - that swap is a drop in, while the k20 -> D17 requires a lot of work (relatively speaking for an engine swap) because of the difference in rotation direction.
This swap was done sometime late last year by a shop in Japan. But thanks for the link... I'll forward it to Jeff at ImportBuilders. The parts about having to modify the cat connector and reassembling the shift assembly are worth noting.
Any body have any extra RSX engine laying aroung

The EP3 is in fact a 7th gen Civic Hatchback.
I agree that the swap was a sinch but it pisses me off that the car has been out what a month
and there is already a complete swap and how to's.

i can understand seeing it for comparison's sake, but why the hell would any of you want to perform this swap on a USDM Si? its the top of the line civic for now, and thus it costs the most, not to mention the fact that its brand new, the cost of an RSX-S engine (or even a jdm new ITR motor) would easily put this thing in the price range of above $23k, more expensive than an RSX-S... with the high weight of the Si, you'd be paying more money for a car that has the acceleration of an RSX-S, but not the looks, the suspension, the brakes, or the interior... now, if they popped a K20 motor into a 7th gen DX coupe, that'd be somethin, but this is no big deal

1986-1988 1st gens of Si
1989-1991 2nd gens of Si
1992-1995 3rd gens of Si
1999-2000 4th gen of Si
2002-+ 5th gen of Si
like I said if you get technical its not, there was no Si in the 96-98 model years
Look at it this way. If I went out and bought a $6k Type-S motor and swapped it in my Si, I could always sell my motor for a good $4k or so. Even if I could only get $3k, basically $3k for 40hp, 10tqe, 6spd tranny. I think I'll take that one thank you.
