Question about Sponsorship
Hey wassup...today in class i talked to one of my friends who told me that some company was intrested in customizing a 2k1 civic...and he asked me if i wanted to get my car sponsored or what not...the catch to this is...in order to get my car sponsored i have to leave my car wit them for 6 months so they can make a bodykit and install all kinds of other stuff, enter my car in 6 import shows in which i have to pay for the entry fee, keep my car clean and avoid accidents...my question to you is...is...is it really worth it and for those that are sponsored wut happens if u get into an accident...do i have to pay for everything they put on my car

- this topic reminds me of the movie- ferris beuller when those two dudes take out their car after parking it in the garage. they fly through chi-town in that thing.
- 6 months? that's pretty long.

All the blueprints for aftermarket parts should be able to be done in two weeks tops if they work. If they're really busy, it'll probably take one month tops, but six months... that's just not right. I'd say, don't do it. Yes, it's free aftermarket parts, but technically, it's not YOUR parts, not YOUR style, almost not YOUR car. Yes, the fame would be cool, but why the heck would you give em the keys to your car for six months just for some free parts?
my $.02 is...
No kind of sponsorship that I ever heard of needs to keep ur car for 6 months or any ammount of time. They usually make u sign a contract and then they ship you the stuff. All they usually ask for is that you do a booth for them at a big show. For example...Konig sponsored a friend of mine and gave him 19" rims and toyo proxes for FREE...all he has to do is go a few Hot Import Nights events for 1 year and set up his car in a Konig booth, they are supplying everything INCLUDING his entry fees.
So I personally think something is kinda fishy if they want to keep ur car for a whole 6 months. You know they are going to run the shiz out of it and everything else. Cause they dont have to pay for it right? It isnt theirs. Cause they are putting all that stuff on ur car so if something goes wrong and u tell them that u want them to fix it then they can say ok...pay for everything we put on ur car. Ya know twhat I mean?
If you do this just make sure everything is in writing. Yes...the fame is cool! A company that, not really sponsored me but, is using my car for all their advertizing for the bodykit I have gave me a good deal on the kit and that was it. I just had to agree to them using pics of my car on their website, and in super street, import tuner and mags like that. So the fame is definately nice. I am livin it up!!!! But you see where my car sleeps every nite!!! Right here with me!
Just make sure you get all the details before you get urself into something and be sure to SIGN SOMETHING stating exactly what is going to happen and read it at least 5 times before you take the pen to the signature line. Hope all goes well for you...

yeah they're probably planning on taking your car apart, then replace them with some old crappy parts the you wouldn't even notice. Car looks good but probably wont last.

don't do it.
