Bbs rs
I'm thinking about putting either seventeen inch 3 piece RS, or eighteen inch 2 piece super RS on my civic. They're my all time favourite wheel and I think it would be something a bit different on a 7th gen, since I've only seen one es with them and never an em2.
Thoughts?

Re: Bbs rs
I'm thinking seventeen is most likely the size I'll go with for two reasons, the main one being that they're a true three piece wheel and will be easier to refinish, and the second reason being they're significant less rare. Less rare, means they cost $1000 less than an equivalent set of eighteens. It also means I could buy a couple sets of seventeen inch faces and play with colours without much difficulty, finding eighteen inch faces would be a nightmare.
I like the look of very large wheels, like Max's tracklites, that combined with the fact that there are maybe fifty sets of super RS currently in North America makes them very cool from the rarity perspective. Eighteens also look better on s2ks, which will be my next car.. hmm

Re: Bbs rs
Notice the green lips on the E36 M3, that's one of the advantages to the three piece seventeens, a different set of lips are cheap and take only a few minutes to replace with the tires removed.
A few Civics with them..
Re: Bbs rs
That would be pretty cool to be able to play with face/lip color combos and stuff like that. I feel like those are great wheels to add a color that will just pop with the rest of the car.

BBS FTMFW! I lived in Europe for 3 years. Ms, AMGs, Audis, VWs on BBS - everywhere. Always loved the RS, but I am a bigger fan of the LMs. Being a weight pincher, the F1 is the ultimate for me. Go for it, bro! Go big or go home.

JDM importers, BBS discontinued them years ago and only re-released the super RS line a month ago, with a starting price of $1300 a rim haha.

haha
You can get 15''s and 16''s that need refinishing for between $700-1200 depending on the size and off-set. I'm looking at $1200-1800 for my 17''s, 18''s would be $2200-3000.

Re: Bbs rs
I'm waiting till spring to order them, putting money towards more important things until then. My goal is to finish my under grad degree with zero debt.
The one other rim I'd love to have other than RS are work meisters, those would put me into a $3000 price bracket though.

Re: Bbs rs
Today I was reading a car mag of mine and BBS RS' were there on a hatch... I have been wanting to do something awesome for wheels and they're perfect. I'm looking for 16" wheels, probably 7.5' width, gonna stretch the tires. I wanna redo them flat black though, it'll look sweet. Mindbomber Where are you finding them semi-cheap?
I feel you on the money for undergrad degree.

Re: Bbs rs
It's been very difficult for me to find a set of seventeens for a good price because they're one of the rare models, but it's much easier to find sixteens. You can find sets fresh from Japan for been $650-850 depending on the off-set and bolt pattern.
Check out the sites of JDM wheel importers, here's one good one..

Re: Bbs rs
Off-set is tough..
Some guys in the seventh gen community like to go as low off-set as possible, but to me the wheels don't look right poking out two inches past the wheel wells. I'd really like to say +25-28 is my preferred range.
I found one really good site for RS, I swear it was in my bookmarks, but I can't find it now.. dammit
