Acura CSX

I compared specs between a base CSX and base Civic and apart from the Acura logo and aggressive exterior.... I can't tell much of a difference.

Can someone explain to me what justifies an almost $10,000 difference between the two?

The acura logo and interior and the prestige of owning an acura "luxary" car. Leather seating, different style headlights and tailights :P Thats basically it from what I know. Performance wise, I'm pretty sure they're exactly the same?

Re: Acura CSX

I think the engine is slightly different as well, I'm working from memory here, but the civic si has a k20z3 and the csx has a k20z2.

Re: Acura CSX

But he was comparing the base models, not the Si, i think?

EDIT: You know what, I think the Base CSX is the same as the Si, not the Base civic. Which makes what mindbomber said make more sense

Re: Acura CSX

Yeah base models. Tbh I'm not even sure what models I should be comparing... highest Civic to lowest CSX, or lowest to lowest or highest to highest. No matter what though, the CSX looks like it doesn't offer anything special.

Re: Acura CSX

I just went onto acura.ca and honda.ca and compared the 2 prices. CSX only comes in one model (fully loaded) while the civic comes in many from base to SI. Meaning the CSX must equal the SI in features. According to wiki, SI has a k20z3 and the CSX has the K20z2. The z3 is better, and the SI is 25,990 while the CSX is 24,290. Numbers seem to be fair to me.

Re: Acura CSX

The csx has a 2.0L DOHC I Vtec engine running at 155 hp. Its basicly a luxury civic with more performance then the EX Civic and a premium interior and exterior. The paint is very nice and so is the inside. Basicly go compare a High end Honda Pilot vs the Acura MDX. Also the CSX only comes in the one model it doesn't have any other grades.

Re: Acura CSX

Hmm then it makes a lot more sense. But with the 2012 Si and it's k24z7 it seems like the Civic would be a better car

I'm actually really starting to like the csx though....

Re: Acura CSX

Ya, the SI is the sportier car, the CSX is all about the luxary however. So it's not quite fair to say which is better, because they were both made with separate intentions.

Re: Acura CSX

I've been a big fan of the csx, tsx and tl for a long time actually. A lot of people buy them because they're looking for a luxury car, but they don't want to pay the maintenance costs of a bmw or benz.

With it's direct import competion being a G37 and GTi I'd say it stacks up pretty well.
