Honda's Car Alarm System
My LX has keyless entry with the Car Alarm/Theft Deterant installed on it. When I press the lock buttom it locks the doors when i press it twice it honks the horn to let me know its already locked. Is there anyway I can reprogram my keyless entry system to honk after I press the lock buttom once?
for the stock alarm to go off, there needs to be some sort of foreceful entry upon the car. Meaning if it is locked and one of the windows is broken, lock messed w/ the alarm will go off. There are probably otherways the alarm can go off, but that's what the dealer says. When I had some minor service on my car a couple of weeks ago I was reading about our alarm system in the waiting room. -made the time go by quicker.
I dunno how in depth you want to get with it, but you can make it honk when you arm you car. Just conect I diode-isolated wire from the unlock wire of the alarm harness to the horn. There a plug about your drivers side kick panel. That's where you can find that wire. I would first ask teh dealer.

Just to point something out... the OEM does not have window sensors on them... which makes it a POS considering breaking the window is the ONLY way someone's gonna get into a 7th Gen Civic unless they have a key.
And mine always honks once when I arm it...
When I disarm it, it'll honk twice... sometimes it has honked 4 times, I don't know why. I just got it. The first day I got it, my car was hit! (Yeah, the alarm works... still a POS.)
Go aftermarket with alarm! From now on, I am!

I believe that honking 4 times means that your car alarm was set off at least once. You should
be able to take it to the dealer and have them make it honk when you arm/disarm. My gf has an
accord with the OEM alarm, it honks when it's armed/disarmed.
