What happens after??
After a car gets into an accident and it's claimed as a write-off, it goes to a junkyard for scrapping right?
What i want to know is if anyone ( in the Vancouver region ) knows of any junkyards where you can go
and check if there's any parts you can buy. I think sometimes when cars get written off, the nice rims are still on it
and useable. Are those scrapped too usually or are they given back to the owner?

Well in Cali if a car is totaled out by insurance it is sold with a salvage title usually for a pretty good chunck of change or if you get lucky it goes to a junk yard and it gets parted out. Now if the car (like mine will be hopefully) is declared a lemon or is repurchased for similar reasons the dealership will wholesale the car and it goes to one of those little shady dealerships you see on the side of the road and it is sold without a salvage title unless the buyer specifically asks.
I went to the junkyard yesterday to get a antenna motor for my girlfriends integra. I ended up getting it off a BRAND NEW type R, still had dealer plates on in and it was completely intact except for the front and side were the damage was. I was going to get the seats out of it but found out the driver and passenger both died in them, that would be a little too spooky for me. Anyway, moral to the story is sometimes when they are written off the just send them to junkyard completely as/is and you can get killer deals on them.

Damm, I would have loved to get those either way, or buy them and sell them again for a few bucks more.
