Help the newbster

who wants to help a newb out and tell me how you all learned so much... my guess is its just being around cars and picking it up as you go, but if anybody knows any good reading material or some web site that helps explain some things about how some of the engine mods work and general customizing tips or somthing... rip me apart for being a newb but just leave something usefull too

p.s. my tagstill isent working, but the url works... hmmmm

Another great wealth of information is the series of books put out by Cartech. Not only do they have two volumes just for Hondas, they offer books on general performance on imports and car audio. They are full of information and will certainly help when you want to start bench racing! It will take a while for the aftermarket to fully embrace the D17, but all the information is there.

I have both of the Honda books and it makes me want to buy a 1996-2000 EX to start drag racing with. But of course the 2001 will always be my trusted daily driver, lol.

i am a noob too! i have learned so much this past month just checking the new posts everyday. i never read the faq until last night. that is the first thing i would do. i would also read import 2nr and get a honda book that takes you through a complete teardown.

go to you local barns and noble and go to the automotive section, they should have a whole section on books like how to build horsepower, honda tuneing, secrets of solo raceing, high performance handeling handbook ect ect....theres lots of good stuff, just buy it, read it then return it a month later!
