spun into a ditch at 95mph...it was awesome

I just got a new set of 17" Konig sub zero's with 215/45 Kumho supras and was just testing em out on a highway exit ramp. With my old stock tires I could make it at 75-80 with the tires squeeling the whole way, so I figgured I could make it a little faster with the new tires. But, live and learn....half way through the turn I spun around a couple of times and went into a real deep gully backwards....It was still so much fun even though I macked my rear bumper on a sign post...but I guess it's just an excuse to get the rest of my body kit real soon I bet I coulda made it if it was warm outside

damn! I spun out once.... It was fun, but scared the **** out of me! And I was lucky that it was like 12:30 at night, cuz it was on a busy street. And nothing happened to my car. You could say that I learned my lesson...

I did that once in my integra a long time ago. I just missed taking out a mailbox. It calmed me down for quite some time afterwards. Knowing you have no control over the car and feeling that momentum throwing the car around is a scary feeling to say the least.

What the ****??? That's supposed to be funny??? You guys need to grow up, no offense and I'm not flamin, but 95mph? What were you thinking? Sorry man, but I did the same thing when it was raining and I was only going 30mph, hydroplaned and spun 360 into a curb. I still have problems with my knee, and my neck. I'm only 19, and I was lucky!!! Just be careful, next time you could be dead, and I don't want to sound like your father, but you wouldn't be the only person hurt about it... Anyway enough parent talk, I thought it was scary as hell when I did it, and sometimes I think it would have been cool to do in a controlled enviroment, but not on the street bro... Have fun and well stay out of ditches

I have the same wheels! Kumho 205/45/17 on them, and I've never spun out. Unless I meant to....hehe! Our cars drift real good on wet pavement.

Man... I hope you know that when you get a new set of tires, they need to be broke in first before you really lay into them.

Prankster01EX, the only reason I thought it was fun was cause no one got hurt and my car's not too bad....I know I shouldn't do it on an open street, but just couldn't resist...thanks for the parent talk!

Im on my second set of kumho's here's a little bit of advice: They are great tires, but if you really want them to stick to the road you HAVE to warm them up first. I always do SMALL burnouts and steer back in forth to break them in when I buy a new set. It makes them stickier but they dont last as long I get about 15,000 miles out of a set.

i spun out in my 88 dodge omni once. there was a foot of snow on the ground, but the roads were fine (it had snowed a few days before). it was new years at like 1am, and i was on my way home. i came up to a curve at like 40mph like i normally would and all of a sudden the road was covered in snow from drifting and i was going way too fast for it. i just let the car go because there was nothing i could do to stop it and i knew my brakes would make me lose control. i got around the curve but my car was headed off the road so i tried to pull it back on, and i spun out. i ended up off the side of the road facing the opposite direction, and my car was stuck in a foot of snow. someone pulled over and let me use their cell phone, so i called my parents. then while i was waiting for my parents, another car came around the curve, but they tried to use their brakes and went off the road a lot sooner, and just barely grzed a telephone pole causing a damaged front panel and a flat tire, but could have been far worse had they been even just a couple inches farther over, they would have hit the pole dead on at 25mph or more. a guy with a truck and a tow strap pulled both cars out and i was able to drive away just before the cops got there

I've spun out a couple of times.

First time I had just bought my '99 Civic like, 2 weeks before. I had 15x7 wheels with dunlop 195/50/15's. It was raining, the first rain of the year, and I was doing the speed limit in the slow lane. I hit a puddle and I felt it really grab the tires. I started hyrdoplaning, but I didn't know it yet. Nothing happened and I thought, "Wow, that could have been bad."

Right about that time the rear end broke loose and swung to the right. I corrected and it swung over into the lane to my left, I corrected again and it slooowwly swung over to the right eventually completing a 180 so I was sliding backwards facing the wrong way. That's a fackin' scary feeling to be looking the wrong way on the freeway. My car finally came to a stop on the shoulder just short of slamming into a bigass pile of gravel. I'm amazed I didn't hit any cars. I was very lucky.

My second spinout was also with the '99 Civic and was due to my own stupidity.

I was getting on the freeway on a clover-leaf style onramp and I was going as fast as I possibly could. When I came out of the turn the stock suspension threw me over to the other side and I did a 180 on the shoulder area inbetween the onramp and the freeway.

That was when I decided to lower my car.

You guys are nuts thinking that stuff is fun. Man in the winter I go to the mall parking lots after we get some snow and do some e-braking and thats kind of fun, but I would never want to try it on the road.
