Someone has to know the answer....
im gettin my rims 18 inch konig verdicts..i was wonderin if anyone knew how much hydrolics cost...i dont want a bunch of switches...not 16 or anything...but when i was in panama this accord had it where he could lift the front and set it down and lift the back and set it down...thats all i want...i dont know how many switches that is...does anyone know how many and how much it will be....
air bags will do the same thing for you, plus give you a super smooth ride...
give "ricky racer" a call
1-800-982-8789
they specialize in air bag setups, and when i called them a few months ago they had a setup for our car in the devlopement stages, im sure by now that it has to be nearly done
from what i recall he said that it would cost about 1000 for parts plus install, for a fast bag setup (basically being able to do all the same things as hydros, but w/ a super smooth ride)
peace!

yes airbags do have the potential to cause uneven tread wear if they arent set up right. my friends has a truck that is bagged and he doesnt have a problem with it.
yes, just like hydros....your camber WILL change w/ drop....the same w/ springs......BUT, i believe that companies make adjustable camber kits that adjust constantly w/ drop.....i could be wrong about that though.....
but if you have money for air bags, who gives a $hit if your tires wear unevenily? your car will look hot as *****!
peace

How does that constitute rice?
It's just another way to have an adjustable drop

yeah, my car is all rice, with my 100% stock exterior and my stereo system i only turn up on the highway when no one can hear it anyways. so my question, the necessity for an "adjustable drop" is??? to pick up your chop sticks a little easier when they fall out the car?? the best part of this all, i said everyone is entitled to their opinions, and to me its rice.....you can think its the greatest thing in the world, i dont care, im just doing what everyone else is doing on this site, stating their opinion, so why dont you all chill out.

Hydraulics are $800 for a basic 2 pump setup. Add price of batteries (at least two, typicaly 4) at about $75 each (Im guessing here on some group 31 deep cycles), plus at least one if not two pair of reverse flow cylinders (an $85 a pair upcharge), plus 2 accumulators at $85 each to smooth out the ride. That would get you all set for equiptment. If you went somewhere and got them installed it would probably cost you about $2000. If you wanted to go with only one pump, it would only allow you to lift the whole car, but drop either the front or the back independantly, and that would only cost about $450 for the basic kit.
The reason to chose hydraulics over bags is that 'lics will let you set the body on the ground, airstruts wont (this is only what ive been told from my brother in law who owns a shop that does this kinda work)
My personal opinion based on experience is that ALL adjustable suspension systems are best suited for show vehicles and are just too much of a pain to have in a daily driver. Airbags are a pain in the a$$ too.
Check out Coolcars for some pricing info on either type of system.
