"Deleting" the new Civic Si
I found this on another car forum. This pretty much sums up what they think about the new Si ...

I was at the dealership on Saturday with my brother (he is going to be getting a 2k1 Civic Ex Coupe in a few weeks) and the salesman got the keys for the Si and let us open it up and stuff. I really like it. I am thinking of trading in my car for one in Sept/Oct. I love the way the seats feel and I love the way it looks. I didn't get to drive it, but I can only imagine how much sportier it is than my sedan. maybe I will learn how to drive stick and then go take it for a test drive. They had 3 at my dealership. 1 black, 1 white, 1 mustard (or whatever the heck its called...more like puke). They sold the black one already. I was looking at the white one.
for the new Si.
IMO, I would have liked to see it come in a coupe. The hatchback just dose not do it for me!

But I do like where the gear shifter is located!

I say BOOOOOOOO to that!
In this forum especially.....I wouldn't expect a bunch of 7thgen owners to diss a car that outpowers them from the get go. Everyone's expecting the new si to be a wrx. come on people. It's got a detuned 2 litre engine. Wait till that things been modded and played with. Definately a good platform to work with.

Unless one of the following short list of cars crosses the pond, I'm keeping my Civic until 2005-2006. These should be reasonably affordable.

I have the black 2002 SI, and I admit stock height its a little awkward looking, but once I lowered it with my sportlines its sits nice and gets a lot of looks not too mention its a pretty quick car. NO SI has ever been fast from the factory, they are just quick, sporty cars that I love to drive and chicks dig.
