a acident i had at the races last night 2500 in damage!!!

ok i wasent raceing. but i was down town in philly where they race going home. i was stoped at a red light where the guy next to me was asking what happen alittle behing us where there was another accident. when all of a sudden i heard tires skreching and boom right into the right rear corner of my car, the dude poped over a the medium about 6" tall blew out his front tires to try to swerve and avoid me but managed to reck the whole driver side the driverside fender, front bumper, drivers door, riped his mirror off, the 2nd door, and his rear quater pannle of his 98 maxima and reacking the rear of my car.the dude tryed offering me a thousand bucks for the dammage when i knew it was more just by looking at it. i also called the cops about 5 time befor i finally had a cop come down to give me a police report for my insurance company. so any this morning i called my insurance and they got me a claim # and told me to get a estiment on my car wich came out to be about 2700 bucks which includes replacing the rear bumper, right taillight, and rear quater panal
not to mention painting half the damn car just to blend the paint, i heard inca gold pearl is a hard color to work with.
so anyway just my luck just after about 2 weeks of getting my rims.
tell me what u guys think off the dammage.....
by the way i have 2 zip ties holding the bumper on so it dosetn hit the wheel as am driving.

Sorry about your damages. Anyone who tries to offer compensation to someone they hit at the scene of an accident is shady in my book. You did the right thing in getting the police and it will work out for you in the end.

It doesn't look to bad. Sounds like it could have been a lot worse. Maybe you could get a nice aftermarket rear bumper or something. A good body shop will make that car look as good as new.

Yeah that sucks, but the damage isn' that bad. At least you didn't find your Civic that way. That's how I found mine parked, except it was in the front on the left.

Once again this is why you take it to the track. I know you said you weren't racing but the whole street racing scene is illegal for a damn good reason: it creates more danger on the roads. Plus i think the track is more fun. Sorry about your car man, that f*cker deserves his insurance hike.

CivicRacer2001, listen to me! 1st off, make sure the car goes to a shop you trust. if the insurance company wants to send you somewhere else, tell them forget it. they will probably have to pay the amount it will cost at your shop but if they try to get out of paying the full amount, pay the rest out of your own pocket, TRUST ME! its more worth it than getting your car fixed improperly! insurance companies want to may THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM, even if it requires sending you to a shady shop and/or getting you cheap aftermarket parts.

a good $ amount is going to go into blending the paint on that bumper, therefore, you may want to consider getting a complete paint swap. you can probably have one done for about $1500 to $2000. if you were ever considering having this done, now is the time to do it because i bet that $1000 at least of that estimate is going into paint supplies and labor.

while youre at it, get a body kit. you need a new bumper anyway, right? might as well use the insurance money and get something custom. accidents do suck, but consider that it might be a blessing in disguise? getting your car pimped out just in time for spring?

btw, nice rims! and save the money that it will cost to replace that altezza and put your stock tails back on!
