How do you tell a integra from a gsr integra
oooohhhhhhhhh, i didn't know you were talking about Canadian versions of the teg plus I had no idea Rosemere is in Canada, sorry just familiar with the big city names (me ignorant in FL). thanks for the clarification vatch.
Hawk, that pic took my breath away and only one word comes to mind that describes the JDM 02 type r

The best way is to look at where it redlines. 8,000k.
Or the DOHC tag.
Tell him to rev his engine. If it attracts surrounding attention, it's a GS-R because that engine is pretty loud and aggressive.
Jup... the Type R gets AC for 2000 and 2001... and comes with floormats!
Hawk: WE WILL GET AN RSX TYPE R! Look at Honda's performance line in America! All we got is a Si hatch, and a Type S that can't even beat an Eclipse GT. Every other car maker has a pretty decent line up of sport compact cars. A 200HP GS-R replacement won't be enough against the competition. Honda made the best decision releasing a true performance car from 1997-2001 (excluding 1999) and NOTHING in it's class could beat the Integra Type R.
So my point is... Honda will do it again.

SoNiCcIvIc: i hope your right on us gettin the Type R. Honda has been alittle stingy on the performance cars we get here. Cause if we get a Type R thats a pretty good canidate for a trade in.

There are some car reviews I hate... and there are some worth reading and keeping. The road tester reviewer of the 2000 Integ Type R states this:
Available in limited production runs since 1997 (with the exception of 1999, when none were imported), the Type R is a high-performance version of the Integra GS-R. With special performance parts and factory-backed tuning, it is meant to be the supreme front-drive sport coupe. But just like the recent delayed introductions of the BMW M3 and the Audi S4, it is rare for an automaker to introduce a high-performance version of a new car until a couple of years have passed (doing so is a good way of maintaining public interest). Honda itself demonstrated this tactic by not offering a Civic Si version of the new 2001 Civic. Based on those assumptions, we're going to predict that a Type R version of the 2002 Integra won't show until perhaps 2003 or 2004.
Look at the 6th Gen Civic's production when the Si arrived... 96, 97, 98, 99, 00. In it's 4th year, the Si was released.
Look at the 3rd Gen Integra's production when the Type R arrived... 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 00, 01. In it's 4th year, the Type R was released.
Now with a new generation Civic we get the Si in the 7th gen's 2nd year of production.
For the new Integra, the RSX... I will put my money on it that it'll be the same.
Still makes me wonder about the Type R Civic.

<< Yes, GSR's have the grey DOHC VTEC badge on the back. However, there are people that take the badge's off (like my boyfriend). >>
Easy way to make a sleeper.
About the new Type R being released in the States:
Although I think it will be released eventually, I think it will be at least a few years before we see it. All of the Acura reps I talked to at the Houston Auto Show this weekend said that it won't be released here "for quite a long time." Some guy at the Chicago Auto Show was told that it won't come here at all. In other words, Honda has absolutely no current plans to release it in the states. So don't expect it in 2003 or 2004, folks.

<< Real type r's have no ac, or radio. They're stripped to loose weight. Also they dont have leather they have recarros >>
Not true. Type R's in 97 and 98 AC was an option, and standard on 2k and 2k1's, also they have CD players, what your thinking of is No cruise control and no moonroof. US Type R's do not have Recaros.
As for the GSR, the most foolproof way is the redline- 8k rpms... to tell a Phony Type R just see how many lugs on the wheels- gotta have 5! (8400 rpm redline also you can tell)
Word, htown.
I can agree why Honda wouldn't release it so soon. (Not everyone wants that car that's known as "f'ckin fast".) To keep a wide range of people attracted to the car, it's gotta attract people in ways other than performance. When it comes to a "Type R"... it's worth the wait. There are more people who'd want to use Hondas/Acuras as a way of getting from point A to point B... but want to save the economy with it's low emissions rating... or those who just need a nice family car, or simply something that's attractive. For those of us who would orgasm at the performance car makers have to offer... our numbers don't compare to those who want a car for more versatile reasons. With all these new sports wagons/hatches and sedans, it gives a family CAR a fricken turbo and more interior/cargo space for example.
But personally I could care less about stuff like that. (Especially the forced induction part.) I'm all about the 2-door that'll get ME where I wanna go HOW I want to get there (yeah, even if it might get me a speeding ticket but hey... lol, j/k)... and I'm about a naturally aspired engine that's loud enough to wet the pants of hot chicks waiting at bus stops. And I'm about the car that's beggin to be driven like it wants you to hate it!!!! So I go for Honda's top knotch performance line... Type R is me!
We have all heard bad things about Honda's performance line lately... the new Si being one of them. I was even told that my bro's friend considered his new RSX Type S, "Too slow." But of course, everyone's got their own opinions... cuz I'm sure even some peeps on here even thought the 99-00 Si coupe was, "too slow" (hell no it ain't!). GS-R's can be made to go faster than Type Rs with forced induction. Last generation Preludes were pretty heavy but not really slow... and now there are no more of them! So with all this talk... I come to the conclusion to ask... "What will be made of the RSX Type R?" The new Civic Type R is promising... I'm hoping the RSX Type R (that WILL make it to the states eventually) will deserve it's Type R badges. If not? (Though I hugely doubt it.) Write letters to Honda about petitioning the Civic Type R's arrival here.

I don't like it when people try to make a GS-R look like a Type R... very few have impressed me. At the last car show I went to, there was a white GSR with a Type R spoiler, JDM Type R headlight conversion, gunmetal 18 inch rims, sidemarkers, side skirts, aftermarket front and rear bumper, and it was kept pretty simple. I was almost fooled it was a Type R... until aZnVoYCe pointed out the 4 lugs it had on it... then I looked inside to make sure it wasn't a conversion... 8k redline... ha! Looked nice, though!
