Are Civics currently being produced in Canada?
I am American, but my Civic was made in the Aliston, Ontario Honda plant. I was a little surprised, since I thought it would have been made at the East Liberty, Ohio plant, but it's kinda nice to have a Canadian made car too.
A good source to identify where particular models are produced seems to be Consumers Guide. Their reviews are among the few that always provide for the countries where the cars are produced, for the US market at least. For 2001, for the Civic, it said produced in USA and Canada, for 2001 it only said USA. From what I have read the Aliston plant only has made Civics and Odysseys. The demand for Odyssey has been surging and I read that they were having trouble keeping up with demand with just the Aliston plant, which is why they built the plant in Alabama, which for now will exclusively make Odysseys.
So, based on Consumers Guide, has the Aliston plant switched exclusively to Odyssey to keep up with that demand? Are there other Honda plants in Canada that produce Civics?
<< Nope just that alliston one, in every honda we make for the American we put a timer at 100 miles where ur car will shout "Canadians Own" >>
I've also wondered that for each American one, you put in an extra annoying rattle, which can't be pinpointed or fixed<<
