I seen a 2k1 a while back that had the angled exhaust, it looked awful IMO.....
Oh well, as long as the person who had it is happy, then its all .......

Rep Power: 0 have you tried backing down a steep driveway with your car lowered?... thats why they angle it, so the extaust don't scrap the road when backing down. think bout it, when your car is pointing up, the angled extaust is actually even with the road, so no scraping.
thats one reason why people i know have it angled up and to the right or left... depending on whether they back down to the left or right.

Rep Power: 0 yes boost is right... less angles = better exhaust air flow... i mean you are talking about a + .5 hp gain... unless you are dealing with a big a$$ engine or turbo / NOS performance...

Rep Power: 0 Yeah alot of it has to do with whether the exhaust piping runs above or below the suspension, some cars the exhaust sits below the control arm and thus needs to angle up to the bumper.

Rep Power: 0 I've never thought about the backing down a driveway theory before. But people just angle or "slam" their mufflers for style. It's the trend. When I got my cannister style muffler, they asked me if I wanted it angled. It actually looks pretty good when it's angled slightly upwards.
