For ppl bashing the 7th gens.
I CRASHED my 7th Gen the other day and everything and I have been test driving other cars. I tested the Si (last week), and today the SE-R Spec V, the RSX-S, and the Golf GTI 1.8T (2001). Everyone who goes up in cars quickly starts to bash the 7th gens, the Spec V and the GTI did not seem that much quicker and the GTI handled worse. The Spec V handled significantly better but its still a sedan that looks mostly stock and all. THe RSX-S i do have to say is faster, handles better, looks better, but its also about $5k more than a 7th Gen EX. The value=performance of any of these cars arent impressive enough to warranty bashing a 7th gen if I were to purchase one. If my car is not totaled then I will keep it, if not I will get most likely another EX, maybe the Spec V because of the price ($17k for 175hp, excellent handling, 9 speakers, 6 speed). But I don't think its all that and more compared tot he 7g. So ppl that bash all of the 7th gens can kiss my

Did you have any mods on your car. My girl has a Spec V and her car feels so much more quicker and powerful than my Civic. of course I have an lx auto but still, an ex cannot be that much quicker.Even my friends GSR does not feel as quick as my girls Spec V. He is running I/H/E as well. Am I reading your responce wrong?

sigh. reading that other thread about that dude with the 15.2 civic is lame enough.
look people, its not meant to be fast. period. it has other purpose.
for EXAMPLE, our friend here got his car totaled and he lived to rant about it. in fact, since he's typing, and has time to go here and type, I'm guessing he got off without a scratch, maybe just some back ache.
if you buy this car for the speed, or something along performance.. you're lame
so far, our new civic seems to be doing everything its suppose to be doing. saving all our butts from horrible crashes. giving us good mileage. etc. etc.
yoda.. your an idiot.. why are you even here? did you sign up to rant an rav about safty an great gas milage?... or did you sign up to see what peps where doing to their cars... doin all that lil extra stuff to squeze a couple more hp everynow an then.... this summer I plan on gettin the gude performance package or something along those lines.. an yes I'm not gonna be killin cars left an right.... but I'll be prety darn quick... I will make a 15.2 quite easily.. yet still have relativly the same gas milage an still be jus as safe as before..
supin up this car is a great challange... an I for one I'm enjoyin moddin my civic...

the Spec V has more power because of that HUGE 2.5 liter engine. That's a lot of cc's to cram into an i4! personally, I love my 7th gen.. best looking car I can afford (prettier than even the RSX, I think) for now.

SOHCVTEC, if your car is totalled, tell the insurance company you want to fix it anyway, get the money and strip the hell out of the car and sell the parts on here or ebay, and/or keep them if you plan on getting another civic, then get what little is left sent to a junkyard.

Thanks everyone for your concerns, I'm fine, not a scratch or ache anywhere... the car has about $8100 in damage and it isn't toalled so it will be repaired. I hope that they do a good job cuz i dont want to get rid of my 7G, the car did do remarkably well protecting me and my passenger, neither of which was injured. I used to have a Z28 with an impact with only half of that damage (yes i know i attract accidents), I had a broken leg and two broken ribs. For the guy running a 15.2, what mods do you have? I do have mods my sig is not up to date, I have mods in the sig plus DC TCS exhaust, DC header, AEM pulley, VAFC... and I ran a 15.6x last time that i was at the track with a near perfect (for FWD) 2.28 60' time at 88.9mph. The Spec V is faster but as someone said it is just because of displacement. If I did have to choose a car and Honda wouldn't cooperate in giving me a good deal on another 7th gen it would either be a Spec V or the GTI. I drove the 1.8T car, I only drove a 2001 (150hp) instead of an '02 like iw ould buy (180hp) because the only 02 was on the showroom. I'm sure it woudl be faster and it is a little more expsnsive but it has alot of nice stuff on it. I'll post some pics of my screwed up car shortly . BTW what happened is a van in front of me hit a trailer at ~40mph and then they both came to a complete stop w/ me about 2 car length behind the van. I tried to go around but I had concrete median to the right and the *** behind me passed me on the right at the time so I just hit my brakes and hit it around ~25mph. Sucks, but I didn't get a ticket sinec thank god the first driver had no brake lights
the guy who said he ran a 15.2 cant remmeber what he did to his car......
As for myself... I have an injen cai, revo short shifter.. aem pullys and konig heluims on order... plan on getting a gude performance package this summer an new exhaust...
as for neo shut up... even if the gude only gives me 35 of the 50 proposed hp... with new exhuast 15.2 isnt that unreasonable
