Rental Focus Drift Session!!
Rental Focus Drift Session!!
sup, yesterday i took my rental POS focus for a badass drift session. me and 2 buds took it to a deserted dirt road/lot and we had a blast with the hocus focus. man that car is sooo crappy. and the body roll is a b!tch on that car too. we took corners and even did the backwards slide then went forward. just like the movies
im gonna trade it in for a rental corolla and take that baby for some real drifting, except this time im gonna buy the insurance so i dont have to worry about anything.
ps. at this rate, i will be the next Colin McRae
(KIDDING!!!!)
just had to tell.

agree, no video or pix?
it will be nice to see some drifts
how do you drift with your FF car? I heard it was not easy to do a nice 4 wheels drift since the car was a front wheels car and front wheels car tend to pull the car straight b4 you can drift it like the FR car? do you use the handbrake method? tell us more on how you do it?

I had a rental Echo a few weeks ago and beat the hell out of it, but it held up well and was good on gas, just wish the weather was better so i could go find some place to drift, but then again the damm thing could roll over easily.
The best part was that I got the $11 / Day insurance so I could kill it and all I have to do is bring the keys back, and tell them that the rest isnt.

i knew somone would ask. but im already ahead of you. im going again on friday, this time with pics and a videocam. but then i gotta figure out how to put it up. anyway, i'll worry about that later.
as for how i drift, i use the "jerk the wheel real hard while you pull the ebrake" method. surprisingly, i can get the car completely sideways and then floor it at the same time and go completely the other way. and the the car doesnt necessarily pull straight before you can drift like FR. actually it slides pretty good.
oh yeah, the best part is when you slide from the dirt to a paved road. its awesome hearing the tires squeel like a b!tch!!!
my skills need honing. i'll get to work on them. friday is gonna be fun!!
btw: i though you pay $11 for the whole time of the rental, not per day.
i figured that( from what i see by looking at them), the corolla has a shorter wheels base.
shorter wheel base = sideways much easier.
think of a crx doing a drift then think of a cadillac doing a drift.
catch my drift?(pun intended)
ps. someone tell me a good site where i can host the vid. i also have pics of my wrecked civ that i still want to show but i have no where to host for free. help!!
