The dealers are prepping to go into the 2003 lines, and we still arn't seeing mods that put out any substantial hp gains. Yes, the cars are ULEV, yes they are commuters, but geez....you would have thought by now that a mod or combination of mods would have hit the market that would give us some substantial gains.
As of right now, there are NONE. I am sick of reading about CAIs that the manufacturers claim give a 5-8 hp gain when in reality there is NONE.
*sigh* ok..im done now.

I pretty much dont bother to make it go fast too. I only put the intake back on occasionally for the fun of the noise...
working on suspension. just to get a better handling and more comfortable to drive car... hah. even that is hard.
I'll trade the car in, but its worth squat I think since the accident and all.

I have a theory about the lack of mods.
I think that the incentive to produce them is not enough.
Leasing is becoming more popular and warrantees are
getting better and better.
The market is not large enough when people do not want
to void their leases or warranties.

..or it could be that they were engineered to be very efficient and
get 45mpg.

dont forget the about how close the 5th and 6th gen vics were.
Are cars are still new, i dont expect anything serious to come out for atleast another 12-18 months
we wont get priority research and developement, that goes to faster cars like the RSX, however due to the tremendous number of vics out there, the aftermarket wont ignore us, dont worry, give it time.....
It you build it, they will come......
give them a chance to get here......

there arent gonna be much, why expect it? no reason for them to cahnge anything...
The will eventually add a full time SE model, but that probably wont come will the 4th or 5th year of the cars existance...
its all a pattern that almost perfectly repeats it self, look at hondas in general...

I am not expecting much to come out, about the time I sell this car in 2 yrs maybe something will be out. But I would prefer the accord over the civic. 2003 V6 Manual Accord is what I am talking about, but yeah its bull how they still haven't got anything out for the cars even for show still not a whole lot. So whatever

Hey, uh, the BIG HP GUDE package is detailed in the Products forum, its supposed to add 45hp to the wheel, that with your standard bolt-ons, and ecu upgrade and a fuel management system to get that extra fuel in there should get your car going pretty fast. It's documented on the sites that stock EX Civics- 96-2000 I believe have run 13.7 1/4 stock except for the Gude upgrade after installation, so just find out as much as you can and let us all know. later- joe
not to worry, SEMA is here to the rescue!!!
just wait till the SEMA show at the end of this month, im expecting big things from it, like parts from HKS (hiper exhaust), and parts from JUN (internals), and lots of others!! Just be patient guys and gals...<earie voice> if you wait, they will come

Personally, I don't think you will see much for our cars. I think the si model will receive most of the attention. Plus, most of the people buying these parts can't afford a 7th gen vic yet. Even then, you would be better off to put all that modding money towards a rsx or si.
