I'm not so sure it is a style thing (only) really,.
I got mine tinted because I hated how the sun just poured into my car esp when I drive on the freeway for an hour w/ the sun shining through the driver side windows the whole way,. I also didn't like having big *** trucks behind me b/c their headlights would shine right inside my car,. hehe windows tinted = everything solved
And my civic is black so it just all flows and makes it look really nice.

its all about your own opinion. I got a black car and would get tint if it wasnt for the cops here in Delaware. They are really cracking down on tint. No more warnings just fines. I dont want cops lookin at me any more then they already do.

I wish I would have gotten mine darker, I have 20% for the back three and 50% for the front two (in california you can't have any tint on the front two but I think it looks stupid w/o *something* there).. but I didn't want to get dyed film and have it eventually turn purple on me, so I got the metallicized film (it isn't silver, it still looks black) But I guess it is more for heat reduction than privacy.
And if I went down to 15% for the metallicized film it would have had a greenish tint and that wouldn't have looked very good.

Nah... but yeah, it's still has style AND the benefits of keeping the sun off of you. If you're going for appearance... whatever your theme may be, tinting might be a good idea.

Who cares about sytle. The tint helps save the interior and helps keep the heat down when you're riding along. Also, I have had 2 white cars and thought the smoke tint looked awesome aganst the white.

Tint blocks sun and offers privacy.

Good enough reason to have it, in my opinion.

But I think cars look better with them. So do the auto manufacters apparently, because every vehicle advertised has super dark tint, even in on the front windshield.

well i do like the way Tint looks on my car which is silver but the main reason i got it was cause i live in florida. Driving without tint in florida is like Driving around in an oven.... and besides tint looks good on ANY car if you ask me............. even motorcycles get tinted winshields......... why??? not cause of the sun.... because it looks good!

I got mine tinted cause it looks good, keeps the car cool in the summer, and gives a bit of privacy. I have to travel on a ferry eveyday and if I want to sit there and crank the tunes or just read, I hate having the people in the car next to me looking over and making faces and stuff.
I never did think it was a style thing.
One beef I have is all these POS driving around with faded tint, that has bubbles, cracks, and peeling all over.

Dark tint always looks good IMO. I love the Badazz appearance of dark tint, not to mention the privacy, and temperature advantages.

WHAT. Tint outa style. WTF. Tint helps keep the heat down, keeps people from peaking in when it's naughty time, and cuts down on sun glare. Besides, I live in the south and believe me, if you don't got it, you better get it.

I agree...I've been considering getting my windows tinted to at least save the interior.

Might sound dumb but I got my tint for privacy reasons. I can leave my cue stick in my back seat while I go out to eat and not have to worry about people seeing it and stealing it. And things like that. If I was to do a show car, a car that was never left alone in a parking lot or something then I would not have tinted windows so you could see in.

I got light colored tint that's sort of metallic silver. It matches my SSM color really well. I think really dark tint doesn't look good on lighter colors. Other than that tint is nice.

I got limo tint (5%) all around, and man is it dark...too dark actually...can't see how fast I'm going during the day unless I turn on my lights...no ****...maybe it's because my front windshield tint strip goes down almost halfway......I need to raise it a couple inches I think...but another good reason for tint is for at night...so people's headlights don't bother the **** outta me..I hate it when I'm cruising and their lights are shining in my eyes off the side and rearview mirrors...

Yeah I had legal tint and it just wasn't dark enough so I had the front 2 doors put to Limo and I can't be happier. In Arizona its just too bright and warm.

Well I will tell yall right now. For show tint is extra points. I have talked to judges about different things and anything I mean ANYTHING aftermarket including tint and stupid little stuff like led washer lights, and little stiff liek that are extra points because its not stock.

I got tint because I park on the street and don;t want people seeing what I have in my car...at least not by just walking by and looking in. aside from that I think it looks good on street cars. For show cars though limo tint is iffy. You cant show off what ya' got if people cant see in.

Hey,

I live in SoCal, and got a 20% tint all around and its very nice and have recieved alot of compliments on it. It actually made the color stand out even more (External Blue).

The only problem is I live in a heavly import modified car area (Cerritos) and cops usually have no tolerance,

But since I have had my car, and I have been caught slipping with the tint, I still haven't been pulled over.

Hopefully my luck will not run out.

Ray

when will window tint ever run out of style ( i never knew it was in "STYLE" ) ....

there is many advantages to tint, it makes cars if any color look good, not just black.
