01civicboi, dude dats how da car looks like except the rims. i dunno maybe from a different country or something, because i dont recall seeing such model in US production. but it sure is nice.
how about this? cmon guys give them some props, it actually looks aight.

toyota corollas are way better than other competitors out there against our cars. Maybe the ONLY car that can compete with the civics- reliability, and all dat good stuff.

Yeah I feel sorry for that site too. It's too bad they have such a difficult car to work with. But at least they're trying to be unique.
Edit: Lol, I found one guy's pics posted up, check this out: Link
Look at the text under the second pic.

Why are you guys hating on corollas so much? In Japan, the AE86 trueno(corolla in the U.S.) has a huge following. They even have an anime dedicated to the car. I'm sure you've heard of it, Initial D. I respect anyone who is tryin to work with what hes got.
Oh I'm not hatin, almost bought one myself! It came down to me just liking the Civic better, even though the Corolla had more stuff for the same price. Those Corolla S aren't too shabby and the new ones are pimp. They got potential but too bad nobody supports them.

For your info....
Corolla *IS* faster than the 127HP SOHC Civics. It's easy to beat someone, if they don't know how to drive. With any car, obviously. There are always bound to be differences between drivers. So I decided to test automatics. I have an automatic Civic and couldn't come close to the automatic Corolla when I dragged it at the lights with my brother. This was again tested by Automotive World, and Corolla beat out the Civic by almost one full second in the 1/4 mile.
Passing power? Forget about it. Whereas the Civic has lagging points (blow 4500RPM), the Corolla pulls hard from 2500RPM and up. Thanks to the VVT-i. I will say that the Civic seems to breath better at top end, but over all, it is a less powerful engine.
In fact, right now, the Civic is one of the slowest in its class. Corolla, Sentra, Protege, Neon, Cavalier, Aero all make more horsepower. Civic will out muscle the Focus & 2.0 Golf/Jetta, however.
If you ask me, Honda should've given the 1.7L to the base models, and offer the 160HP 2.0L for the US-Spec EX & CAN-Spec Si Coupes. 2.0L is not that big of an engine for today's compact standards. And with customers becoming more aware of "useable power" (aka Torque) opposed to all the power in the top end, more & more people appriciate low revving engines for their everyday cars. 1.7L is definitely an improvement over the 1.6L when you're touting around in town, but it's not enough.

Yep, VVT-i makes the difference..... at first I thought it was all hype like DuraTech, Vortech & ZTec... until I drove my brother's old 99 Corolla 5-Speed and spanked Civics & 140HP Integras all night.
It's funny because everyone laughs at you first... thinking "Oh it's just a Corolla"

Yeah and again we realize that our cars are slow compared to others. Personally I don't car anymore. This car ain't gonna get any faster no matter how much money I put in it (well maybe, but I'm not made out of money). I'll just make my car look nice for now, and later on when I got some cash:Lancer Evo VII or used C36 AMG. I'm still making up my mind on that one.

Don't underestimate these babies. They are indeed one of the few
cars that can compete with the civic. And don't underestimate the
older models either. A twin cam corolla can easily put a spanking on
a civic. I used to own a corolla, turbo-charged it. Was spanking the
previous generation Preludes left and right.

<< Go with the EVO!
C36 will get toastest by Acura CL/TL Type-S >>
Yeah but I'm very biased towards Mercedes. There was a thread on this one web site about C320 and CL type S. Here's the Link
Anyway I noticed that someone by the name of CorollaRacing just joined our web site. This thread is about to get very interesting.
Hi, I am the founder of Corolla-Racing.com. First off its nice to see some of you are open minded, and others here know the history of the AE86. I founded Corolla-Racing.com 2 1/2 years ago when I became the owner of a 1994 Corolla.
I designed the website originally to help other Corolla owners modify there cars since there was little aftermarket help at the time. It evolved into a site where owners could share images of there cars, track times, a have discussions on Corolla related topics.
I personally have put alot of time into my Corolla, modifing it, and racing at the track. This season I'm looking to break into the 13's with the help of some Nitto Drag Radials. I'm not the only Corolla out there racing.
Lately I have seen a huge surge in the number of Corolla owners who are looking to do heavy engine modifications to there Corollas. As of the last year I have seen many Corollas recieve the 4AGE engine out of the AE92 (Same engine as the AE86), the 4AGZE Supercharge engine out of the 1st Gen MR2s, 3SGTE out of the 2nd Gen Turbo MR2s, the 2ZZGE out of the new Celica GTS, as well as many owners making custom turbo kits for there stock engines.
Recently companies have started to make alot more parts for the Corolla including a bolt on turbo kit for the 93-97. As there popularity grows here in the US I think you will start seeing modified Corollas in your local area and more at shows.

I've always had respect for Corollas... in fact, all Toyota cars. I think Honda & Toyota were making similar cars, until about early 90's, Toyota decided to make more "family" cars and Honda went for the "Sporty" feel. Things are starting to change now, where Toyota is getting sportier (ie - Celica, Matrix, New Camry) whereas Honda is becoming more of a family car (ie - Civic, RSX... Flame me).
As far as durability of cars? I would have to give Honda 9 out of 10, and Toyota 10 out of 10. They are that damn good. But what I noticed about Toyota is that they have a tough time of balacing the sport with familiness. Personally, I think the new Celica is too hardcore. My brother drives one, and when you want to drive it hard, it's awesome. But for daily driver, it's do-able, but I think I would rather live in an RSX, even though it's not as sharp edged. Vise-versa can be said of the Accord vs Camry. I know the new Camry is better, as a family sedan. But for a 24 year old guy like me, I think I would take the Accord. And of course, ultimately, I chose my Civic over the Corolla by a small margin. It took me two months after test drives to finally decide on something.
I found that the Corolla S was a solid car. But at the time, it didn't have power windows. It did have rims, a nice painted skirt package, rear spoiler, moon roof, red stiticed steering wheel from Celica... not to mention more punch in acceleration, better tranny, better gas milage, better ride and way lower financing rate (3.9% vs 8.9%!).
I still decided to go with the Civic, mainly because of the driving finess. Steering was near telepathic compared to the Corolla, brakes unbelieveable, it offered more interior room, had a better stereo, looked fresher, it was a two door and I knew it would offer *way* more aftermarket upgrades. It had power everything, A/C, even micron-filter. And it was cheaper by $3000, despite the higher interest rate (ultimately, the monthly payments were close). I haven't had any regrets buying the Civic, except the odd times if I lose a race by a bumper. Not that I bought it to race or anything (it's an automatic, come on), but I guess that's just part of having fun with the car too.
To be honest though, I'm unsure what I would buy at this time, with the NEW Corolla out in the market. It looks so nice, especelly the back end. If I had to chose from both 4-door models, I would go with the Corolla. But I like coupes, and since Toyota hasn't bothered to make one yet of the Corolla, I'd buy the Civic again. Whatever happend to the great Corolla GT-S? The market calls for it right now. Civic is the sole dominator in the economy coupe market. They only have to compete with Cavalier & Sunfires. Focus doesn't make one (hatchback doesn't count), neither does Neon anymore. Sentra is 4door, so is Protege & Elentra. I guess there is Accent Coupe, but it belongs in the Echo class. I think Honda knows what North American consumers want better than Toyota.

Glad that there are other sites running like this one. I hate it when people come in here and put a link to a site they think sucks because the car isn't as popular to mod as the civic. Just because other people want to hook up other inexpensive cars or sport compact/subcompact cars doesn't make the stupid. Toyota makes a good product. There was just nothing appealing to me about the corolla. It is always nice to see a nicely modded car no matter what it is.
For quality of the car, yes Toyota makes good cars, excellent for a matter of fact, but have you ever looked at the parts they use IN the car? They're crap. Good Power, NO looks. ( with the exception of the new ones, although decent at best). Have you ever noticed, Corolla drivers are either, really SLOW drivers or EXTREMELY FAST CRAZY drivers?
