If you want a 100% genuine engine swap, wait a few years or until someone does it. If you wanna do what htown did, and be brave about it, go for it... we'll support you the best way we can.

Dude our cars are NOT compatible with B series motors. For one thing we have the RFS. For another thing you would have to get custom motor mounts, not to mention the other various parts under the hood that are nowhere near the same as they were for the '00 civic. You would be spending a helluva lot more than what you quoted. I would just use the money as down payment on a brand new Si.(believe me, they are a lot better in person)

i was gonna flame and all, but if the guy claims he can swap a 2000 b16 into your 2k1/2k2 civic, i say if you have the funds tell him to do it.... if he knows how to do it w/o performing any of the lengthing mods that we all know are necessary then he'll have quite a few customers.... I think he's pulling your chain but if he knows some ancient japaneese secret involving 2 virgins and a dead duck then perhaps he can do it.....

im skeptical, try to probe the guy for info

If he really says he did a type R motor swap into a 2k1 you should ask for a photo.. I know that everyone on here would love to see that if it actually happened.

if you got the money, do it, take pictures, and make everyone drool at the sight.

I was thinking of asking a shop to do that too. hehe. i'll have them look into it tommarow. I'd of course get a B20, with a b16 head, then get the Vortech SC. haha, in my dreams.

well we're already pretty sure that would work. It's the same engine as the RSX (K20). and someone's already trying an RSX-S swap...

whats the name of this guys shop?

To be totally honest i think that the first shop that manages any engine swap for the 2k1 civic will get mega mag exposure because they will be the first to successfully have it done. I dont buy the fact that he got a b18c5 in the 2k1, not for a sec... If he did that car would be rippin it up in mags everywhere!!!
