No, its the same motor as the base RSX. So it will be just as difficult.

Yeah chances are it'll be the same. They both have transverse engines jus like ours so its not gonna be any easier I dont think, we all kno RSXs and 7thgen Civics have a lot in common.

I can somewhat agree that the swap is possible. Just look at the engine bay of the Si. If you haven't seen it before, it's about 2/3 or 3/4 the size of our cars and the RSX's.

when you do an engine swap, is it the entire engine that is swapped or bits and pieces? would the transmission be a factor?

its would be the same thing as the rsx base engine. and the whole engine, trans, and drive shafts are swapped.

Probably by the time the type R's here and someone is dumb enough to wreck it, an engine swap with the RSX engine might be posible, but I would lean to the RSX engine since an RSX is more common and you could get the engine for a better price and there's already aftermarket support for it...and for the type R's engine...no aftermarket support for now, and it will end up being more expensive to do the swap since it's an engine from an uncommon car in the states even if it's the same engine, if I were you...I would spend my money on the RSX engine, it would be much easier and "cheaper"

the civic type-r engine is exactly the same as the RSX type s engine, so aftermarket support will be plenty

First of all its 2002 Civic Si not 2003- they were released late so theres some knowledge for future reference. And the Si's engine is a K20A3..same as a base RSX..so NO it wouldnt be easier

Speaking of 2003 civic the none si sedan is ringing in the end for our cars.. aftermarket support and speed... after this year if you want a civic your gonna hafta go with the si hatch..... though thats not neccesarilly a bad thing... but with their markup of up to 23,000 I'm gonna miss a 15,000 dollar car thats lots of fun to play around with

Base Engine Size: 1.3 liters
Base Engine Type: Inline 4
Horsepower: 93hp @ 5700 rpm
Torque: 116ft-lbs. @ 1500 rpm
Automatic: 48 mpg / 47 mpg

someone out there correct me if I'm wrong
