ANYONE with a LX/DX and 18" rims!!!

Please help...

I have an LX coupe and just about to order 18" rims (verdicts) with 215/35/18 tires. I was ready to buy, but then some people told me the "power" lose will be fairly big! is this true? I expected a little power loss off the line but not that much! I am really worried now, is it that bad? I am planning on lowering it as well, then CAI (later this summer). so I am going for a lot of "show" but don't want to lose all my "go"

it's not about lx or ex its about rotational mass, you will feel a noticable difference in off-the-line acceleration.......

that 1 more inch is a noticable diff. If I were u bud, i would stick with 17's, they look just as nice and you wont have to worry about performance loss that much.

hey trevor, try it out....pull up to a 2k1 with the stock 15's, see what happens through 1st and 2nd gears......but if it's looks you want, it seems like there's this comp. goin on to see how big of a rim you can put on a civic, so i guess bigger is better?!.........

tottaly,, I hear ya.....its all bout the style w/ 7th gen's........

Plus, if your that much into speed, well then you probably would go to the track, probably have slicks OR lighter wheels than the 27 lb stock setup.....(or whatever it is 23)....

Oh, and you probably wouldnt own a 7th gen civic...

I have a 2k2 LX with 18" Motegi MR7's and the difference from take off isn't that bad, the tires just don't burn out like usual, but they look bad a$$ on my ride.

Thanks to everyone that replied, I feel much better now. And by the way, I just ordered my 18" Konig Verdicts and can't wait to get them. They should be here within a week and hopefully I can find someone with a digital camera so I can get some pics and finally post my baby up in member rides!!!

Our Cars are to slow to be worried about how much its going to slow us down. Man if I were you I would def. be getting those 18's and plus verdicts are awesome! I think it would be best to go for looks on our cars rather then speed at least until a turbo comes out. Later
