07 WRX or 07 SI
Alright. I am headed to the dealership tomorrow to look at an 07 Subbie and the new 07 SI Sedan. Just opinions which one to go with. I am leaning towards the subbie. They also have an 04 subbie there too that I might look at. Just trying to see what people think. 95% chance that I am going with the WRX.
Get the WRX. It will most likely be more expensive, so that is something to consider. The 04 may be easy to get into, but find out if you really want new or used first.
I got my 03 EX and 05 s2k both new, but just bought a used STi with 30k on it.

You can prolly get a WRX for just a lil more than a fully loaded SI. But that rex will be very responsive to performance items. I say WRX, or if you wanna splurge get an STI for the 6speed.
I wil fix vBPlaza today

idk maybe its just me but i dont see a point in getting a WRX if its not the STI, cause it would always have ya wanting the better model, like right now i have a ex, and i want the Si
My friend had a outback sport, and then upgraded to a WRX, and now he's aways moaning about how he would have just got the STI lol
plus i love honda, always will to, so IMHO i'd go with a 07 SI

Drove both at the dealership by my house and the rex is definetly nicer of a car to drive. SI just feels weird to drive and the dash is annoying. WRX TR is about 25k out here. SI is I think 23k

Well with the STi it is a little about 60 more horse and a six speed. But even a stock rex not sti is still very open to mods. Just with exhaust, intake and FMIC about 60 hp increase. I believe that is what I read, so don't quote me on that.
Yea, I was gonna say that on the webiste a TR is 24k and a SI with navi is 23k. Only thing that your missing from the STI is the 6speed tranny and a few other things but do a lil modding like SloRex, with down pipe and exhaust and he was up close to the stock STI hp.

A WRX can be faster with a STi with a different turbo. Between the Si and WRX, it comes down to if you want boost. You can even put the VF39 from the STi.
Mod for mod, STi will always be faster, but any car with boost and AWD is going to beat fast as hell.
With a tune alone you'll net at least 20-30hp. 04+ WRX have the new 2.5 liter turbo as the STi, just missing a bigger turbo, 6 speed tranny, and DCCD performance wise.

Boost creep is bad. I know all about that. Also a tune is definetly alot cheaper then bolt ons. Hell the cat back is about 800 or so for the cheap one. There are a couple of things out there for cheap bolt ons that would go along with a tune. BOV which is not going to help any but sounds good. Intake. I am going to look at getting the SPT exhaust, intake and short throw shifter from Sub if I get it.

Its best to get a tune before you start with the bolt ons. You could develop boost creep, where the boost output drifts below/above stock, which you would have no idea about it even happening. Better safe than sorry.

Haven't seen an ounce of snow this year yet where I am at. My EX doesn't like snow or wet ground. Went backwards through a barbed wire fence last year cause of it. The Si is a nice car but the dash is hard to get used to. At least when I test drove it I didn't like it. Easier to see everything but just not the same dash that I came to love in the Vic's.
my friend has a 06 sti, and all he has done so far is a intake and black fiberglass front lip. looks bad *** and is fast lol
I really like the new type-r 07 SI 4dr in blue or black w/the stock body kit on it.

I hit a patch of black ice and spun out. I also live in the middle of a gulley hard to explain and it is about a 50' increase in elevation from my house to the top of the hill. I was also running a set of dropzone sleeve coilovers. Crap if you ask me. Now on Tech S's. But it is an auto and a d17.
MY04 STi was just under $30k with tax, title, and license. It has 32k on it. I put down $2k, and car payments are in the $5xx. The car has warranty to 100k, and has GAP insurance. Basically, if it is totaled/stolen, it is refundable up by 150% according to blue book. GAP insurance is a little extra money, but well worth it in the end. Its best to always buy new so you know every mile, but you can also buy smart man.

hey, i work at a subaru dealership, i have driven the sti, the forester turbo(ej25 turbo), the outback turbo, and the legacy, actually every model. If you want a car as fast as, but more rare than, the wrx, get the legacy sedan. Its the same car but a little more luxurious, its a great machine all around.
