Question
I would like to know something.
I v heard that the motor from civic 1.7vtec 2001 coupe is almost the same like D16Y8.The difference is in ECU because the motor from 7thgen is not reacting on bolt-ons,and every part what you put he is trying to put closer to factory setup.I v heard that and I don t belive so much because I was putting CAI and get about 4.5-5 hp,and later some other stuffs.

bolton + d17 civic = 0
vtec civic = d17a2
lx/dx civic = d17a1
so with that, the 01 d17a2 are teh same as teh 02 03 04 05.....
please correct me if im wrong.

Power from bolt-ons: d16 is more reponsive to bolt-ons than d17.

And when you put performance things on d17 that ECU is maked on that way that he automaticlly trying to put closer on factory default.That the ECU is not accepting performaces so good?
And is there any differences btw USDM and EUDM?
