i do feel bad for her family who will find out that her picture has been leaked on the net for thousands of viewers to see it, i do realize that it is a lesson to be learned, but the respect of the matter ... i would hate to see my family member posted on the internet like that ... poor girl
I think it was more a combination of the drinking and driving, and speed. I don't drink and drive, but do drive fast. This will make me think twice. And for those that are thinking, "this is what you get for drinking and driving"....she only made a mistake, as I am sure we all have done. No one has that coming. I guess there is always the one time that you don't get another chance.

I say this all the time, and I keep to it 100%:
If I have any alcoholic drink, from a sip to a case, I won't drive. Every weekend when I go out I park my car far enough away that I wouldn't walk there that late if I was sober. I usually sleep in the dorms where my cousin lives, so I park all the way across the campus and downtown. Its about a 1.4 mile walk.
Of course, the walk there in the morning sucks, hung over, cold, and trying to have all the people downtown not stare at me. Most of the people out downtown saturday and sunday at 6-8 am are middle aged. They always stare at me. Usually I have a big smile on my face remembering most of the night before, so I probably look nuts. I always look cold, though, cause I always forget to wear a warm enough coat.
I guess it's better than the 3+ mile walk home from his place, or the 2 mile walk home from downtown.

Its the only place where i can park for free on the weekends and not get towed. So yeah, I park over a mile away. That way when Im out im not tempted to drive home, but its close enough that if I have to I can sleep in my car, as I have done once.
Honestly, anything less than 2 miles is not a long walk up here. The campus is about 1 mile wide. Downtown is literally against the bottom (mile long stretch) of campus, then down some more.

I used to work with the guy who got hit in the Civic. He's perfectly fine how. If anything, the image of the girl after he got out of the car is still in his head.
