A friend of mine has a Station Wagon with a 1.9 twin cam.
Its putting out something like 130 stock.
He’s got internals, pistons, rods, valves, springs, and a wideband tuner. He just ordered a turbo for it, and claims he’ll hit 300-350 hp on it.
I haven’t said anything, but I’m having a hard time visualizing 300+ horsepower with just internals and a turbo.
I’m just posting this because it’s been on my mind… I wish him all the luck in the world, but I still can’t see numbers like that out of the motor.

(I was going to throw it up on the local ricers thread a long time ago… But I never got around to it
) He’s using this as a daily driver, and he’s convinced that since he did the internals, its going to be bullet proof at 300+.

yes it is definately possible. from th sounds of it , i think it may be a saturn wagon.. am i correct?? think abou tit this way/ our little d1 is a single overhead cam. with out internals guys are puttin gdown 225whp with boost. so with internals i dont see why a DOHC motor wouldnt be able to produce 300whp with boost. guys put down 400+ with stock internals on b series motors all the time

Yeah. As long as everything else holds up i'm going to laugh when his built motor can make 500+ and you start to cry

I had a 1993 SC2 that I bored out, built up, and turboed.... After tuning I laid down 254hp 225 ft lbs. @ 9 psi. It was actually really reliable- I drove it around as a daily every day for about a year and a half until I sold it. It was expensive as hell to put together and I destroyed a tranny with it.
