Chrystler Factory recall question

So one of my friends sister has a 1996-97 Chrystel Cirrus. She "wrecked" it the other day because the lower control arm ball-joint went to ****.
My friends dad told me that if I had it towed off to where ever he would GIVE ME the car. So I could do whatever with it. My plan was to have it towed here, fix it, and sell it. It "needs" a new lower control arm, the ball joint for it, and a new wheel. While looking up prices for parts, I came accross a Chrystler factory recall FOR THE LOWER CONTROL BALL JOINT!!!

If I took it to chrystler, would they fix it for free?? It is a factory recall, but I dont know that they would since its already gone to ****, and been "wrecked" because of it.

Anyone who works for/at a dealership who might know PLEASE!!! let me know. This could be some EASY, MUCH NEED, source of money for me.

It is a lifetime recall on all 2nd Generation Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, 95-2000 Avenger, Sebring, Sirrus, 95-2000 Gallant, etc.... It covers close to a million individual VIN's.

The recall will cover all associated parts and all damages resulting from the failure of said part.

You might have to fight with them about it, and it might take some work. But go in, request all recall information on the vehicle. If it's been done before, they'll fight with you. If it hasn't been done before, it'll get fixed.

yes, i work at a dealership (dodge, chrysler, jeep). if you want you can give me the last 8 digits of your vin via pm. i can run that vin in my chrysler catalog and see if there are any open recalls on your car. if there is an open recall on your car not only will they fix all damages but they will even pay for the tow bill. trust me,ive been through this a million times. i work for the parts dept and i service all the technicians, not the public. so we are always dealing with these damn recalls lol.....let me know if you need any more help.
