the true power of are cars/help

and its not good....i was talking to with felow 2k1 owner and he's running pullys, short air intake, witha full exhust system on a ex coupe and tolled me the dyno results were 112hp at the wheels...what kind of crap is that. honda clames 127 stock...i think honda need to work on there transmissions or someone need to come out with something so we can get some of that back.....he's loseing around 30hp at the fly wheel..............
personaly i'm looking for a lighten fly wheel and clutch [ if that helps ] and if anyone have any other suggestions please, i don't know much about these things...i don't want to get up to 200 hp and only have 150hp at the wheels.....

Well, as long as you got pully's and wheels to turn I'm afraid that's how it is man. The sad truth of physics.

I think this is more proof that mods don't really do much to are cars as far as HP, not that Honda suffers from major drivetrain lose which is generally between 15-20%

150 whp out of 200 hp at the crank is 75% drivetrain efficiency and isn't all that bad. It's basically what a stock RSX Type S or a 5th gen Prelude SH gets.

I forget were I read it but that Nissan Spec-V ( I think that's what it's called) has drivetrain lose of like 35 percent although they say there's like 10 bottled up in the exhaust.

- honda doesn't claim 127hp at the wheels but at the crank, big difference.
- 112hp at the wheels sounds about right.
- the lx shoots out 100 at the wheels, i read somewhere.

You would really have needed to dyno the car stock and then after the mods. No manufacturer list the hp at the wheels. The bigger number always sounds better and sometimes that number is stretched just a little.

Exhuast doesn't free up much. Intake frees up a little. Pulley's free up a little too, but Unorthodox Racing pullies (not AEM) should free up even more. Anyway, nitrous or turbo is the only way to make some real power right now. An alternative is raising the compression and going NA. Right now there is only custom head work available. Maybe in a while there will be camshafts, and throttle bodies, and pistons, and heads. Then you'll be happy. Just wait a while dude. There's plenty of stuff to upgrade till then. Not that our cars will ever be madd fast, but they'll hold their own and they might even surprise a couple of people.
