Opinions on del sol/gsr's
hey guys,
im putting my car back to stock over the winter, selling it and buying either a del sol or integra gsr, what are your guys experiences and opinions on those cars?
i love the del sol styling with a spoon front lip, kamanari sides, and a type r rear lip, and since they're B-series engines, they have alot more aftermarket then a 7thgen, and il be getting a si model(b16 dohc vtec), they respond to mods very well, another thing is the targa top, to me from the side, they look live a mini s2000
i also like the integra styling with a jdm front on it, supposevely they have better transmissions and they have .2 more of a liter(B18 dohv vtec), same thing wiht aftermarket, they have alot and also respond great to mods
or an integra type r in champ white or phoenix yellow
what do you guys think about my 2 choices of cars i want to get once i sell my 7thgen?

go with the gsr. del sols dont look like s2000s andrew lol. why dont you buy a type r if you have the money. a real one not a imitation R. you already know how i feel about del sols lol. girl cars!! there just like celicas. you only see girls rockin them.

Rep Power: 338 either 1 is good! And Del Sol's are not that slow! THey are faster than D17 powered Civics! And if you even care, they are more JDM than a Civic coupe. They are considered slow b/c the CRX Si was faster compared to the Del Sol w/ D16Z6. And that was the 1st car in the US with a B16 from the factory. And they only weigh around 2300-2400 pounds.
If you choose the Del Sol, just check for leaks from the T-top. Oh, make sure it's a 95. I dont think the 93-94 MY got DOHC, just Del Sol Si, not Si VTEC.

Rep Power: 0 yea, but i like that car, everyone has their own taste, and dont flame me for saying that after posting for your opinions, im taking everyones opinions into consideration, some may lik the del sol, some may not, oh well, and i found a type r in yellow bone stock for $11 grand in southern MD, lik an hour from my house, but im not ready to sell my car yet, it will be done towards the end of winter, i want to get my new car to start a new year and a new car insurance bill, ive had this car for almost 2 years now, the little power is getting old, hey casper, that del sol may not be your cup of tea, but it could take you anyday, lol, jus messin with ya, and ask slim if he would be intersted in buying my car in the spring, i would keep some of the mods on it for him!, i kno he misses his 7thgen so bad, lol, and this one has vtec!

and yea, im lookin for a 95-97, they have dohc vtec b16's, and they arent slow, same engine as in 99-00 civic si's, and the block is pretty decent, can hold a good bit of boost!

Rep Power: 0 haha, and with a toyota tercell.....um yea, you cant make them "sick as hell", lol, and that fat guy he always hangs out wiht a tercell, dont kno his name, but he said that slim would probably buy my car off of me in a heartbeat, he misses his car alot, and mine has vtec, i dont kno man, i dont kno if you can put a nonvtec head on my car and it would run right?

i myself like the Del Sol Si VTEC styling.. always looked good with the stock spoiler and targa tops. just alot of kids riced them out...
but anyways IMO go with the Teg.. i have a '94 GS-R with minor mods (I/H/E, short shifter, and lowered) and its a beast.. esp after driving my civic during the week to commute, and then i take the teg out on the weekends and wow the civic is damn slow.
I mean 0-60 in 6.7 seconds (stock), with 170HP and 128ft-lbs... redlining at 8000 Mmm makes me wanna take my baby out right now and rip it on the backroads lol. oh yea and the B18C1 in the GSR and B18C5 in the ITR will both rape the sh*t outta a stock del sol si. IMO go for a champ white R or a black GSR... make sure you get a 95 Type R or 94-95 GSR.. fvck that OBDII bs... youll feel more power with OBDI plus you can fool around more with the OBDI.. this is just my opinion hope it helps

Rep Power: 0 Girly car or not, I still like the Del Sol. It wouldnt be something i would trade my civic for, but they can look really nice with the right kit and drop and rims. There is a really nice one around here, nice dark green with bronze rims. He has a swap in it, but not sure what it has. I would drive one, I think the t-tops and rear roll down window is sweet.
Woudl still rather have an MR2 though!

id rather find a car that is already turbo'd because my dad wont let me turbo a car, so id have to get it already turbo'd, he hates me spending money on my car, but its a hard decision guys, del sol si dohc b16 or gsr dohc b18, i kno the teggy has .2 liters more but the del sols are lighter

I like both as long as they look clean and arent riced out. Heres a crazy delsol thats on honda-tech, many of you have probably seen it http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1266033. The guy converted his sol to a mid engine h22 powered machine and plans on adding another engine. So a del sol will have two h22s

that del sol up there actually looks pretty good, minus the rims. i normally hate those cars, too.. but i guess a k swap would make them a little faster. imo, you should get a rwd car.

Rep Power: 0 yea, well i really like that del sol and there isnt a del sol in my town fixed up, theres many civics riced out, jdm civics, and alot of domestic rice, theres a few people with gsr's wit like every bolt on possible and my friends piecing together a k20 integra, so i want something a little different, any other cars you guys think would be nice??
