whats the hp on a 2001/2 (?) dodge r/t? ill say 200hp with 0-60 in the low 7's right? i was coming home from work, and while pulling up to a red light 2 guys in a red r/t roll down their window and ask me if i wanna race. i thought "wtf, i aint got **** to loose". first light, vroom, vroom, blah blah, while shifting to 4th i had em by about 2 car lengths. i slowed down to see if they misshifted or something like that, and the guy that was driving yelled that he wants to go again ( they had an automatic, so missing a gear is out of the question). next light- same story. we pulled into McDs and the guy gets out and asks me what i got under the hood. i replied: an engine- bone stock. he didnt believe me so i popped the hood and showed him my dirty-a.. engine bay (im gonna clean it tomorrow), he looked, said "later" and drove away.
believe me or not- that is what happened.

The guy must not have known how to race because he should be able to eat a civic up he has exactly these numbers

Based on thee numbers he should have eaten you up unless you are heavily modified. Maybe he wasn't pressing the gas down all thea way, or maybe he didn't think you had actually agreed to race and he was just pacing you.

Either way if you did win, good race.

he prob got a lemon.. hehe sucks for him.. that an maybe he had a couple hundred pounds of silly sh*t (audio.. sparetire.. junk in truck. ...) inside plus another person in the car.. plus its an auto.... an you where racin short distances.. in which case he prob never got close to his total torque or hp

WTF? ... I guess horsepower and torque #s are out of the question. Anyone got weight? If not, it doesn't matter... I would LOVE to share my story but then again, this is the section for B.S. flags and everyone should know well enough about what I'm gonna say... tonight...

I ran circles around a V6 Mustang Auto in my EX. On the freeway it was tailgating me and hey, it was so bad I should've put on my hazzards BEFORE the race and I didn't even need to get out of 4th gear except to be considerate to my tranny.

Since people like to base a car's power by the # of horses and amount of torque it has, I don't care what people say about it... all I have to say is those cars aren't fast for sh't unless it's a V8... but I even got a lil' somethin' for that... well... I almost do!

That's not what I meant. I am saying that no matter what car someone says they beat in a race, people come along and say it is B.S.. If you race someone and beat them around here, you are awful lucky if 60 people don't tell you that your victory is impossible.

#'s are sometimes are ok for stat sheets but it really depends on the driver....u can give a retard that doesn't know how to shift a Supra TT and i'll drive my civic if i burn him does that mean i "smoked a supra TT"? or i just beat some1 thats doesn't know how to drive that drove a supra TT...just my $0.02

I've raced a Dakota R/T, and a Stratus something. Dakota seemed to be a Stalemate, and the stratus beat me, but he shouldn't have, I Was just in the parked car lane full of gravel and sand so I had worse traction, and There were parked cars coming so I had to let him win. since I had no grip I couldn't get in front of him in time. But despite my problems, I stuck right beside him, till i eased off.
