I Think I Gonna Quit

I think I am getting out of this modding game right now. I just spend soo much time and $$$$ on the car. Now I think back it is really unessecary.

I was talking to a guy w/ a modded suby yesterday. He said it get too addicted, once you get started. I think that is soo ture. I went home lay on my bed and rethink everything I did to my car. I just went . All those money could of put in better use.

Any of u guys with similar though that want to share.
I am not putting down on the guys that are modding car. Just modded ur car wisely.
Sry I typed this at work. Any errors / grammer. Plz excuse me

It does sound like you have an addiction. But working on a car really is a hobby that alot of us enjoy. Just make sure that hobby is manageable money wise.

I think it can be equated like a drug, you can do it in moderation, just don't abuse it! I think you will know when cost > benefits

I second modding is def an addiction and a hobby. My parents get so pissed when they find out I buy stuff on my car they think I should be saving for a condo or something. I see it I dont' have a gf and I don't go clubbing alot or smoke illegal substances so thats money I can use for the car. In economics we call that OPPORTUNITY COSTS. The money would be spent somewhere else. If I dont' go out for a month that makes up the cost for a new mod.. that's just how i see it.

Nope the mod bug hit me again after the Civic and now with the WRX, it costs about 10 times as much to buy parts, but they actually do something when added

Ya I drive past a mistubishi dealership everyday going to work and see the Evos' lined up and I always say if I already had a fast car I wouldn't mod it. In reality like Slo Rex just said I'd probably start with something silly like a shift **** and it just keeps going. Unfortunately, for slo rex the more expensive the car the more expensive the mods. Tuning = money pit but does give some sort of internal satisfaction that only we can understand.

I have probably already invested over $2,000 into my WRX, and I have had it maybe a little over a month. Another thing, even if the car is fast, you always want faster. Believe me it happens when you get used to how fast it is and it starts to feel slow.

With a Civic theres alot of aftermarket parts. I try to just replace old worn out stock with high performance things. No carbon hoods or trunks for me! ha ha

well i had goals for my civic and I really wanted to bring out the potential of the car, like a lil better handling, (suspension) $1000.00, better exterior look (wheels) $1200.00 better sound system (sub, amp, new deck) $900.00, a lil more pep from the engine i wasn't expecting like a lot now (aem v2 intake, greddy evo 2) $950.00 and i shaved my door looks and bought a $500 dollar alarm system. and called it a day...we all get addicted it's how u feel at the end of the day after blowing that cash... so ehhh i wanna get a lip kit and then i'm done... k20

my mods arent as crazy (good way) as some of you guys, but I keep catching the bug, over and over

I put most of my car back to stock 2 years ago and said I would keep it stock. but then this passed Spring, I did it all over. Now that winters coming AGAIN im going back to stock
its a vicious cycle

with all the wheels/tires/suspension i bought, i could have done something cool like an engine swap instead
