Acura will drop the RSX, but other companies are just starting to bring in sub-compacts in the luxery market. Mini, and the A3 are already on US shores, the 1-series will show up here too. Even Volvo is planning on bringing a small vehicle. Here's a link about the Volvo.
I think that if Acura has to drop the RSX, they should at least bring in the CSX.
Any imput?

Toyota dropped the Celica AFTER Scion brought in the Tc. The Tc is more luxurious, has more torque and is cheaper. Its a better buy in every way.
That isn't quite like going from a RSX to a Civic.

Maybe they intend to make the civic a slightly higher performance, slightly more luxurious car. With the Fit, the Civic is no longer the bottom of the line economy car. Maybe a lot of what made the RSX cool will end up in the Si.

That's exactly it, the SI and RSX are essentially the same car besides the looks so it would be stupid to have 2 cars with the same engine to compete with one another. Acura TSX will be more higher end to cater to that Middle/upper class and if you want performance you'd be an SI. Yes the RSX will be missed just like the Integra DC2 will be missed.
i will miss the RSX... The world needs that car so one day my kids can put the moters in thare civics. and so on and just like we did... Thay will have the option... SI
wood like to see a new CRX... dont you?

A CRX would be hot. Imagine the possibilities of a light hatch with K20/24 motor in it? That thing would be running 12's from the factory. Car's are coming looking so bubbly now it would probaby be ugly though. Just my opinion. The new SI sedan looks pretty bad *** though and even has limited slip.

SI is all around a good buy for the money. the reason why they gave the axe to the RSX because the civic SI is moving up now. interior and exterior wise, the SI has every bit of right to be the RSX replacement.
its a smart move for them because it's really two main reasons ... first by bringing in the fit which is a sub compact lower price range the profit will be larger percentage wise for honda just like any other product out there. the second reason is that the rsx made the acura brand look less luxurious because of the image and demographic that buy the rsx ... if you were in the market for an RL or a TL why would you want to buy something from a company that has ricer teens buying it? but thats just what i think...

I talked to a salesman about this because he brought the discontinuation info to me first. He said they are discontinuing the rsx till about 2009. They are trying to focus on there luxury and SUV division. But they plan on redesigning whatever compact they are gonna come out with
