that is just from a guy that lost a losing battle and is bitter. I have been with them over a year and a half and have no problems whatsoever. I don't buy on ebay unless they take paypal, that is how sure I am. My business is the web, so I know what to look for. You don't have anything to worry about as long as you know how to protect yourself. ie. changing passwords on a regular basis etc.
3,000,000+ users can't be wrong.

oh yeah someone on ebay tried to scame me 100 US for fog lights, i payed through paypal and paypal helped me get the money back right after 1 month of being scammed, paypal gave it a month because e-bay gives it a month to be resolved, paypal was very good in this sense of protecting myself as buyer

i agree on the fee part, but honestly thats a good standard fee as its pretty close to other online payment sites, except paypal has a better rate, i just read through paypals stuff, it looks like they ARE FDIC INSURED, on that paypalwarning site it said they weren't but paypal states they are........ so hopefully paypal is still da shiet, cause i rely on it heavily

Well, I say this; maybe this guy's point is going a little too far, but he does bring up some interesting points about Paypal not being FDIC insured, and their number is very difficult to find and reach.. I don't think Paypal is a scam or anything, but personally I know I will definitely give some of those alternatives a try.

i don't tend to leave a lot of money in there, but now i get 1.86% interest on the money in there and i also get cash back for using my paypal debit card. i think it's one of the best things to happen to the net next to ebay. once they get all the logistics straightened out, it will be cool.

I would never use paypal again! I was warned about them and like an idiot I used them for an order. Well, my credit card number got stolen, like I was warned it would, and I had 700 bucks of bull crap from Panama on my card. Not cool! Anyway, I took care of it all. I would just be affraid to use them again.

paypal is just the middle man to transfer funds.

paypal isn't the problem its shady e-merchants

research a purchase, including the product and the seller, befor you commit and you'll be fine

Protection Policies

Is my PayPal account insured?

Yes, your PayPal balance is FDIC insured up to $100,000, as follows. When you add or receive funds to your PayPal balance, PayPal combines your funds with other customer funds and deposits them in accounts at FDIC-insured banks on your behalf until you decide to send money to another user, withdraw the funds, or enroll in the Money Market Reserve Fund. In the unlikely event that a bank where we place your money were to fail, your funds would benefit from FDIC insurance, along with any other deposits you hold at that bank, up to a total of $100,000. In the event of insolvency of a bank where we place your money, we would act as your representative and file a claim with the FDIC to collect the amount determined from your PayPal balance. You can access a list of the banks where we place your money here.
